cobbman11 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I'm not understanding the comment about the IL-2. Are we getting an incomplete plane on Friday or are we waiting a little longer?
I/JG27_Rollo Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) As far as I understood it: we'll get the IL-2 this weekend but it will not be finished. So expect some gauges not to work properly (or at all) and maybe the damage model etc. is not as sophisticated as it will eventually be but the plane will be perfectly flyable with all ordnances available. So basically the same as the the Lagg & 109. Looking forward to it.
Pierre64 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 By the way, did actually all the gauges work properly on real IL-2s on Stalingrad front in 1942?
Zak Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 IL-2 is as ready as other planes available in early access - it's okay to fly it however it's not representing the final quality. Same story as LaGG-3 without trimmers or Bf 109 F-4 with limited engine controls. 4
Finkeren Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 By the way, did actually all the gauges work properly on real IL-2s on Stalingrad front in 1942? Propably at about the same rate as the German instruments. War service usually takes its toll.
Feathered_IV Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Ah, I thought the Il-2 was to be delayed another week or more. Great news!
Blooddawn1942 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Really looking forward to this friday's early access! I appreciate it very much, that members of the comunity spend their spare time to translate the dev's answers from the russian part of the forum. But to be honest, I am slightly irritated. Why don't we get those infos not first hand? Im sure it's not the case, but it feels like our comrades in russia are premiumcustomers.
=38=Tatarenko Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 (edited) Loft and Zak brief us here every week in writing and provide screenshots and live streams and youtube videos. You want daily briefings? Zak is here every day. They also have a game to make, betas to run etc. I'd rather they spend the time on the game. Sometimes they are making four new builds a week for testing and EA. Lastly - our Dev Diary has 160 posts. Theirs has 700. Obviously the Devs answer more questions if there is more to answer. Relax - everything is going just fine! Edited February 12, 2014 by =38=Tatarenko
JtD Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 A little bit more of the dialogue as done on the Russian forum would still be good. Not just for us customers, also for the producers and developers. Initially, the Russian forum and this one were about as busy. Take a look now, in particular the update topics. There currently are 918 replies in the Russian update topic, and there's a whopping 161 here. There are more people online there, and that's even more true for Fridays. So the lack of dialogue on this forum clearly leads to reduced interest, when compared to a forum where the dialogue is exemplary (which on the Russian forum it is). I don't think a reduced interest is what anyone would want.

Im sure it's not the case, but it feels like our comrades in russia are premiumcustomers. In fact there're more questions from the players on Ru side. Not always, but more often. Another thing is that Loft was in the mood to argue with a some people in the dev blog discussion that's why it's 900 vs 160. There's a lot of flood there, lol. Tatarenko's post is not missing anything, I'm checking it everyday. Ah, I thought the Il-2 was to be delayed another week or more. Great news! Will be in your hands this Friday. And we might give it to the beta-testers later today. =38=Tatarenko Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 And we might give it to the beta-testers later today. Now THAT is the important news PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE 1
JtD Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Good way to shut up folks who are complaining about lack of communications is a near instant reply. Well done, Zak.
Blooddawn1942 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Yes. Thanks for Your statement Zak! I am perfectly fine with the way and rate You keep us informed. I am really relaxed. I was just curious why there were more infos in a part of the forum which exludes a huge part of us who don't speak russian. So nevermind and keep the spirit high!
PA-Sniv Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Now THAT is the important news PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Please stop teasing us, poor founder!
SimFreak Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Now THAT is the important news PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Commence F5ing?
Zak Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Commence F5ing? No need, we haven't given it to the testers today. Nevertheless IL-2 goes to early access this Friday
=38=Tatarenko Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 Well roll on Friday! (but I did refresh the test page 287 times!!!)
Bando Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Thanks again Tatarenko. For me the way the info does get here is not all that important, as long as it gets here. If you, with knowledge of the Russian language, can provide and translate, I'm all for it. And I'm gratefull. Thanks!! I hope you will enjoy that IL2 as I plan to. On friday that is...... on friday......
Bearcat Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Sorry that probably wasn't clear. He meant that 1v1 isn't supported by the official server but it's easy to set up your own (passworded if necessary) server for any battle you like. That sounds like a contradiction to .. No joining multiplayer games by IP only.
=38=Tatarenko Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 No it isn't. When you start a server it appears on the general server list but you can password it so that only your opponent joins or your team etc. Like in the Hyperlobby days.
Zak Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 We'll be live streaming tomorrow on Friday 14th. Same old team of LOFT and me will be broadcasting. We are going to show you IL-2 which is going to early access starting tomorrow, as well as a bunch of other cool smaller features that have been prepared for you by 1CGS team within the last week. Stream starts at 16:40 GMT on out Twitch channel 2
Voidhunger Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Thanks Zak, will there be IL2 as a target for bf109?
I./JG1_Baron Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Great news - looking forward to flyable IL2
II./JG27_Rich Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I thought I heard somewhere that this IL-2 flys more like a tank than the 1946 IL-2, so no dogfighting in it?
[JG2]R7_Blackadder Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I'll try to do smth with it. Since someone here has already had to do with previous Russian speaking producers (for various reasons) , with less than delusional results, I'd say it's in the interest of everybody to get rid of every "suspect" in that direction.

[JG2]R7_Blackadder Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Well, sadly I have been part of those unfortunates that stumbled upon World of tanks first and War Thunder later...feel free to make your jokes I can honestly say those have been life teaching experiences, in a manner of speaking, not to mention bad relations with both Dev teams. It left me way bitter on welcoming new projects (read cautious) and that's one of the reasons I was somehow hostile even to BoS in the first moment. CloD played a big role on that but not on the Devs, in fact I appreciate their direct presence. I know they are very different companies, different games and target clientele, but now this feeling about the "treatment" of the Russian speaking community, even thou larger and domestic for the Devs, brings up again bad thoughts. I understand communication, just think about the language differences and how easier is to chat in your own, but I think I can be a customer as good as the next Russian guy. I don't want to bitch about it and I'm not talking cheap nationalism but I must say, if this website, along with its media and forums, has been setup, I suppose it was to attract potential international customers along with IL-2 series aficionados. I am not asking for a 24H info channel because I'm not 15, I have a work and I can contain myself despite extraordinary interest, BTU if it wasn't for good guys like Sim or Tatarenko my knowledge of what is to come, hence my interest and presence on these forums, would be minimal. That's part of the game publicity as well. So, if this conduct was unintentional, the better. I don't care, it can be amended in a moment, starting from the next update thread. I hope this was sufficiently clear and elaborate to explain.
FuriousMeow Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 BTU if it wasn't for good guys like Sim or Tatarenko my knowledge of what is to come, Why? Did you not read all of the dev diaries? The latest information from those two were well after you purchased your standard edition, the information they've brought here has only been minimal in terms of how long the dev diaries have been going on. So this looks to be a direct insult towards the developers. I won't defend them, they have 4 years of excellent RoF support to defend them. That says a lot more than being burned by new developers (WoT, War Thunder and even CloD).
Feathered_IV Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Pre-resenting a development team because you were unhappy with a whole other team and an unrelated product....
SYN_Mike77 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 They tend to hang out more in their native language forum more than in the foreign language forums. This is surprising? Or a reason to be upset?
Volkoff Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) I am very much looking forward to the IL2, new features, and checking out the video of the Stream. Thank you to the team, including the testers! Thanks for the update, Tatarenko and Zak! MJ Edited February 14, 2014 by =69.GIAP=MIKHA
Feathered_IV Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I wonder if the French, German and Italian forums have as great a need for hand holding. 4
Feathered_IV Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I was wondering if the other forums have the same sort of complaints, about how additional information that may be gleaned from the Russian page isn't rushed to be translated and disseminated among the other forums by the devs. In the old days I had to wade through miles of babelfish nonsense to extract some measure of Olegish chit chat. Then I'd have to study the nuances to try to figure out what in heck it meant. These days I feel a bit spoilt that my weekly updates are augmented by Russian speaking community members who selflessly gather any other information and properly translate it, then bring it straight here for me to read at little to no effort. Now I notice that our friendly admins are serving it up on a platter by pinning these extra updates at the top of the page for all to see. I honestly don't understand why such convenience is such an affront to some and I wondered if our other language forums had similar types of complaints. 3
ST_ami7b5 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) The only result of complaints will be that Tatarenko will stop translating from Russian forum. Thank you again Tatarenko! Go on! Edited February 14, 2014 by ST_ami7b5
