Quax Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 As some have the "muddy googles" effect with SSAO, I would like to know, wether it should be excluded from the graphic presets and made "optional".
Picchio Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) It would be better if it was made optional (like every other graphics option, as far as I'm concerned) but not because of its muddy look. Besides, they said that "current presets are temporary and may be changed prior release". Let's hope that SSAO will be one of those to be changed... but I'd be just happy if they adjusted the sampling quality so that it doesn't look like crap even when it's set to High. By the way, I haven't had a chance to see it on their new Ultra preset yet, does anybody have a decent comparison screenshot? Preferably in-cockpit. Edited January 18, 2014 by Picchio
Requiem Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) Yes it needs to be optional. From my eyes the sim doesn't look anywhere near as good with SSAO on. Edited January 18, 2014 by SYN_Requiem
Jaws2002 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) Optional, but fixed. This whole campaign against SSAO is the result of a BOS bug. SSAO is not the problem, but how it's implemented in the game (at this point). Edited January 20, 2014 by Jaws2002 3

Mikey Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Will we be able to change all settings on release or do we have to have these presets? i dont understand how 4 or so presets will be fit for the thousands of computers it being played on. i could get a-lot more fps from the settings im used to using on every other game ive played on my desktop. probably an extra 5-7 fps just from turning ssao off.
