Selfmade (printed) upgrade for KG 20

Recommended Posts

Hi folks. I made myself a little upgrade for my KG20. The 2 black buttons on the lower stick end are custom made. The housing and the housing to the lower right are custom made and 3D printed. The housing has included a leo bodnar BU 00836A Joystick Controllerboard so plenty of upgradepossibilities still given.

Next i plan on creating a brake handle like the one in the lagg so that planes that have such a brakelever can be braked more authentic:)

Great job, looking good! Lucky you! ;)

I see you have a GoFlight module as well. Do you use it in BoS with a Leo board?

Cheers,

Cheers,

Hi, yes, its a GF LGT-II. I replaced the rotary encoders with potentiometers. those i attached to a leo board. This way i have analog axles for all trims.

The remaining buttons can be used via gfkeys.exe

FYI. The needed mountingplates for the potentiometers have also been printed with the 3D printer. Its really awesome having such a thing. You imagine it you make it. Fun as hell. Also every plasticpart that eventually breaks in the household can just be replicated:)

The black switchboad above is also printed and controlled via the leo board.

the other picture shows the brakegrip components i finished modeling. I am currently in the process of printing them. ill post an update once theyre fitted (hopefully all works the first try:))

Wow! Excellent work, Winger! Your joystick is a real work of art. I hope she brings you many years of great use.  :salute: MJ

That's a very neat project! Looks like you are going to get a very useful generic sim cockpit!

Now that everything works perfect i am thinking of having the plasticparts reproduced in some higher quality material via shapeways to complement the quality of the material used for the rest of the stick. Overall i am pretty happy. This would only be the (in germany we say "das Tüpfelchen auf dem i" wich means as much as "the cherry on top")  Well, that would be another few hundred bucks i guess. so i might have to wait with that a for a while:)
