andyw248 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Isn't it funny: Apparently the Navy had solved all our problems 68 years ago... check it out at:
Finkeren Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Interesting. Seems a bit of a sweeping statement that all taildraggers should be landed with stalled wings in a three point attitude. Are all taildraggers configured in such a way, that they stall at a safe ground speed in the three point position?
RAF74_Winger Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Are all taildraggers configured in such a way, that they stall at a safe ground speed in the three point position? No. Taildraggers are configured such that the the aircraft stalls several degrees past the three point angle. If they weren't, any significant aileron input you might put in for cross wind correction would make one wing stall before you got to the three point attitude. That would not make for a smooth landing. W.
Uriah Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Well, I had to try some landings after watching the video and I must say it improved my landings. Ballooning is a big problem. Learning to go in where you have to pull the stick back slowly until it is all the way back as I came in was particularly helpful.
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 LOL: Crosswind landings: don't. Wheel landings: don't. Got it. Must be nice to have square airfields with three hundred and sixty runways.
senseispcc Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 The BF109 is easy to land but take care somtimes it has surprises left in it: It was a rough landing a bit bouncing around did go on !
DB605 Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 ^ 109 frame is like paper currently. It landing gears should fail in hard landings way before frame would break this way. 3
