Discussion of the New Scripted Campaign System and Pre-Order

Dear Friends,

 

Years ago, the original Sturmovik title motivated the community to produce dozens of wonderful historically based scripted campaigns. There were both official and community Campaign projects. These Campaigns were available on forums, were included in big releases or sold as separate add-ons in various countries. They added a lot to the original Sturmovik experience for all users.

 

We wanted to revive this tradition for some time now, and, as you may have learned from Battle of Kuban announcement, we planned to offer new historical (scripted) Campaigns simultaneously with its release. However, we later decided to not postpone playing this mode and release the first Campaign as early as this year.

 

We are proud to announce that today we open the new historical Campaign "Ten Days of Autumn" Pre-Order for IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Moscow.

Here's a question. Will it be a series of "stand alone" missions or will each Mission be linked - through results, etc, with the next?

I like the scripted missions in the current campaign, so im sure these will be fun.

 

I also look forward to learning how the user made scripted campaign works. I am almost done with a FW190 micro campaign but its probably worth releasing it once the campaign system is out and the FM is revised.

1. What can we expect from these payware campaigns? Will it only include the missions or also additional content like skins and cutscenes.

2. How is the scripted campaign mode designed? Is it similar to the scripted ROF campaigns or more advanced like the old Il-2 campaigns with awards, promotions and pilot stats.

3. Will one or two scripted campaigns be part of BoK or do we need to buy them seperately?

Im not a fan of scripted campaigns, but if there are awards, promotions and pilot stats like Juri asked above, I will be interested .

1. Depends on the author.

 

2. Similar to ROF, but much more media options to tell the story. Its a scripted Campaign, not a Career system. Stats for the Campaign will be tracked and you can earn awards, but promotions are not included at this point. Maybe later.

 

3. Probably not included as we have limited time. 

 

More details will be released soon.

No, this are separate hand-crafted missions. Forget about the current Campaign system. It's all getting junked. We've explained this already.

The new Il-2 BoS/BoM ect needs to have better kind of campaign and approach to this subject (like it was in "old" IL-2 or IL-2 CoD, for example Desastersoft campaigns). Now it's minus in SWOT analysis so Im happy to see this! I very liked RoF campaigns (this payware also):

My fingers crossed and I will do the pre order for sure.

Just 3 questions:

1/ Can we have possibility to set up realism option as we want (like in QMB) or it will be fixed like in official campaign? (for example full CEM, expert, but with external view on = custom settings of realism).
2/ Can we have possibility to add custom skins? (I saw info about extra skin for pre order but what about users skins with his markings ect.)?
3/ Can we earn something in this campaign for the pilot used in missions? Like medals or other awards for our pilot during campaign progress?

Keep in mind, that the scripted campaign is not the end-all-be-all. The RoF-inspired career mode is still coming for both BoM, BoS and BoK in the coming year.

 

This is just icing on the cake and a way for the devs to generate revenue along the way.

Just saw a question the the FB page. Do you need BOM to play this or is the F2 included in the scripted campaign? If someone only has BOS can they play this DLC?
