Guest deleted@50488 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) What will be will be... the Future's not ours to see.... .... What will be, will be .... :-) Of one thing I'm sure - they will again be the closest to real renditions of their real world counterparts, like in no other Combat Sim...! DeafBee Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 I really look forward to the Yak 1B. Better rear vision, more gunpower and a little faster than the current Yak, might improve the odds against superior 109's, which most people play in this sim. As someone once wrote on this forum. You have to be little of a masochist to fly russians with the current plane set in both BOS and BOM. Everytime I bring down a 109 F or G version, I feel very satisfied, since they can in most cases disengage the fight as they please.

If you fly the IL2 you at least feel you are doing something useful rather then burning fuel at 3+k in a me109 :D

I kinda disagree Deafbee, often i find it alot easier to get victories in my epic Yak-1.
DeafBee Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) I kinda disagree Deafbee, often i find it alot easier to get victories in my epic Yak-1. I know you said it before too .....I believe most people who mainly fly russians agree with me though. At least from what I have read on this forum, which also matches the reality during that time Edited October 30, 2016 by 19te.Deafbee
Gambit21 Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Yak 1 does fine against 109's if you fly smart
DeafBee Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) Yak 1 does fine against 109's if you fly smart Indeed any plane can really.....if you play smart...and the pilot in 109 is not smart. Don't get me wrong I love the Yak. Edited October 30, 2016 by 19te.Deafbee
Finkeren Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Indeed any plane does Not any plane. If you fly smart in a P-40 against a 109, it means you run away and don't look back. 2
DeafBee Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Not any plane. If you fly smart in a P-40 against a 109, it means you run away and don't look back. Given that P40 has the higher energi maybe. Not much of a "runner" the P40 against a 109
Finkeren Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 Given that P40 has the higher energi maybe. Not much of a "runner" the P40 against a 109 There's always the odd chance that he hasn't seen you or don't care enough to hunt you down Better than trying your luck shooting craps with 20-sided dice. 1
DeafBee Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 There's always the odd chance that he hasn't seen you or don't care enough to hunt you down Better than trying your luck shooting craps with 20-sided dice. True Finkeren. Though I actually know a few guys who fight pretty good in the P40. I have no idea how they do it. Hard plane to master.
Finkeren Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 True Finkeren. Though I actually know a few guys who fight pretty good in the P40. I have no idea how they do it. Hard plane to master. That's because they don't fly smart To succeed in the P-40 you have to completely empty your mind, let go of your earthly bindings and reach a point of zen. It's just like in HHGTTG: The secret to flying is to hurl yourself at the ground and miss.
Gambit21 Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Indeed any plane can really.....if you play smart...and the pilot in 109 is not smart. Don't get me wrong I love the Yak. LOL - yep the "not smart" factor is often important.
Bullets Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Any update of the production of the Yak1b and Ju52? As far as I am aware they were in Beta a while ago! 1
YoYo Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 Any update of the production of the Yak1b and Ju52? As far as I am aware they were in Beta a while ago! Maybe something new Tomorrow? Its a D.Day.
Finkeren Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) Any update of the production of the Yak1b and Ju52? As far as I am aware they were in Beta a while ago! Jason said the next update will come "in time for Santa" (or was it "Satan"? ) So sometime in December, I guess? The update will bring so much more than the Yak-1b and Ju 52. It'll bring DX11, the first BoK content (including the Bf 109G4) and heaven knows what else. EDIT: Maybe Jason did write "in time for Satan"? In that case the release date will be November 8, at least in the U.S. Edited November 2, 2016 by Finkeren 1
Brano Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 It's Satan Clause. The one on picture showed to Bruce Willis by his daughter in Last Boyscout movie :D 1
Cpt_Cool Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 "in time for Santa" does not rule out tomorrow for the optimists 1
Nil Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) The Yak 1b along with the Jun52 are a very very welcome addition! When French Pilot of Normandie Niemen arrived in Russia, The Russian gave them the choice between the P39, the Hurricane and the Yak. They choose the Yak! even though Great Britain was not happy about that. When the war was over, they claimed 273 enemy aircraft shoot down (37 probable) Sure they knew how to make good use of it! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normandie-Niemen Edited November 2, 2016 by Neil
YoYo Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 (edited) When French Pilot of Normandie Niemen .... Many Polish pilots used Jak-1b also (for example 1 ИАП "Варшава") Do you know something about skins for incoming Jak-1b? Id like to see NN too with white arrow. Edited November 2, 2016 by YoYo 1
Finkeren Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 MP servers once the patch comes out... IMG_1226.JPG I should hope so. Because that would mean that a lot of people bought the collector's planes. Besides, it shouldn't really bother anyone. 37,000 Yakolev fighters built: The Eastern Front pretty much was "Yaks! Yaks everywhere!". 2
Danziger Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 It's Satan Clause. The one on picture showed to Bruce Willis by his daughter in Last Boyscout movie :D OMFG finally! Someone who gets me!
Finkeren Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 I'm just joking around with you Finkeren! I do think it will be extremely popular though, for good reason. Absolutely. Compared to the Yak we already have, there should really only be two downsides: Shorter firing time for the MGs . More restricted forward view because of the armored windscreen.
Finkeren Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 As per the latest DD: Add to the downsides of the Yak-1b, "loss of adjustable trim on rudder and aileron".
Matt Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 And total lack of rockets (not a disadvantage for me because i always miss with them anyway, but at least the non-b has the option to carry some).
Crump Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 As per the latest DD: Add to the downsides of the Yak-1b, "loss of adjustable trim on rudder and aileron". Very useless if the designer paid attention to the stability and control. In fact, most single engine aircraft do not have them at all. A single fixed tabbed is all that is required to account for assembly variation.
Plurp Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 As per the latest DD: Add to the downsides of the Yak-1b, "loss of adjustable trim on rudder and aileron". Interesting, because for me, the Yak-1 does not have adjustable trim on the rudder or ailerons already; while they work fine on other aircraft.
Finkeren Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Interesting, because for me, the Yak-1 does not have adjustable trim on the rudder or ailerons already; while they work fine on other aircraft. To be honest I hardly ever use anything but elevator trim on most aircraft (MiG-3 being the exception) so you might be right and I haven't even noticed. Maybe the trim tabs were deleted from the design earlier than series 69?
YoYo Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 See this from Today's DD: "Lots of minor improvements which appeared in the Yak-1 serial production all together significantly improved its fighting qualities. We hope that as soon as our beta-testing is finished, all the pilots who have already pre-ordered "Battle of Kuban" will come to see that." Hmmm its a mistake. Jak-1 is Collector plane, in BoK we will have Jak-7.....

=WH=PangolinWranglin Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 The way the DD was worded confused me. Are we getting the 1B before we get the Ju52?
YoYo Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 The way the DD was worded confused me. Are we getting the 1B before we get the Ju52? You have right. It looks like this but I remember also the info about Ju-52/3M will be the first. Not very important (first Jak or Ju) for me but it was said.
Brano Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 (edited) Maybe the trim tabs were deleted from the design earlier than series 69? Yak-1 s.69 had trimmer on the left aileron and rudder, but they were adjustable only on the ground. Pilot could trim only elevator during flight. These were replaced by compensators for both ailerons and rudder on Yak-1b. Early series from 99 still had previous instalment, compensators appearing few series before 111 (first Yak-1b series considered as with full set of improvements integrated into production) Edited November 4, 2016 by Brano

Early series from 99 still had previous instalment, compensators appearing few series before 111 (first Yak-1b series considered as with full set of improvements integrated into production) Trusty Brano, always there with the facts regarding VVS aircraft I just checked and yeah, the Yak-1 s.69 only has adjustable trim on the elevators in the sim, just as it should be - I just haven't noticed lately, because I never really fell the need to trim anything but elevator on the Yak. So the Yak-1b will go from non-pilot-adjustable trim tabs to fixed compensators? So in reality it will mean little difference for us? It's testament to the level of detail the devs put into their non-study sim, that they actually work things like this into their model.

Sunde Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 i thought Yak, Ju and G-4 will all be in the big December update? I didn't know the G4 was expected to be done so soon? Can anyone confirm if this is the case?
Finkeren Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Yak-1b will be the first plane, Ju 52/3M will be ready in December. So it really is "two weeks, be sure"? Excellent I didn't know the G4 was expected to be done so soon? Can anyone confirm if this is the case? Yep. The first BoK content will come with the December upgrade, and that should include the G4, unless there has been a change of plans.
