Would anybody be able to tell me how I set the height of clouds in the mission editor? Thank you :salute:

You can't :(

The different cloud patterns have some slight variation in cloud base altitude and thickness, but that's about it.

Note that custom cloud height is planned as one of the features in Battle of Kuban release.

The dev don't tell when that feature come. Maybe for Bok, maybe before, or maybe after. But be sure that it will come.

Here's a description for the Clouds drop-down list in the Mission Atmosphere Options dialog:

Clouds

The amount and type of cloud in the sky and whether there is morning and evening ground fog present. You interpret the values in the drop-down list as follows:

- The words clear, light, medium, heavy, and overcast represent the amount of low-level cumulus (puffy) clouds in the sky.

- The last number represents the amount of high-level cirrus (wispy) clouds in the sky. If the number is odd, morning and evening ground fog is present and can be seen from the air.

I can't even get the time of day to change after editing it in the ME, nevermind clouds.  :scratch_one-s_head:

Changing the time is no problem select the hour and enter the value remembering it is the 12 hour clock so 17:00 is 5 pm

Does the time change as the mission advances or you are stuck in the time set in the ME??

The time advances. FYI, you can use the Date Time Trigger to trigger an event at a particular time in a mission.

I CAN set the cloud height. In the mission editor and under Atmosphere there are two new settings.  The first one "level" is the altitude for the clouds the "Hight" is basically the thickness of the clouds.  The effects are mostly obvious when you select a weather with plenty of clouds e.g . Medium, heavy or overcast.

Unless all this changed with 2.005 update?

Cloud height and thickness settings were added in version 2.004, before OP has asked this question  :)

So yes - it's now possible to have variable clouds, one of the many cool perks coming from BoK development.

Remember that max clouds hight depends on clouds type.

Hey. I'm trying to set a low altitude cloud deck but I can't get it below about 800m. In the Atmosphere Options tab I have selected Clouds 02 medium 01 with Level 100 and Height 100. In game though I still get clouds with a base altitude of 800m and tops over 1500m. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if this has changed but there are height limitations for each cloud choice (see Mission Atmosphere Options Dialog in the editor manual). For 02 medium 01, the allowed height range (i.e., thickness of the clouds) is 500m to 1000m (assuming it has not changed for more recent game versions).

Lower ceiling for clouds is 500mt.
