Urra Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Multiplayer server missions created and hosted online by various groups can always be hosted in open and closed door sessions. Sharing a small number of the mission files out there going on could help the MP community learn and grow. We have a mission sharing corner here, but it seems that's mostly SP for now. Hoping that this bucket can be filled slowly with all types of MP oriented examples...which are the best way to start for many,( at least it was for me). I'll add one I have created in a couple of days once my internet is back up. Many thanks to all. 3
Urra Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 (edited) The mission attached below runs from very early morning sunrise and into the next morning. The mission below will last for 24 hours or until one side completes both the secondary and primary objectives, and at that point it gives the user 20 minutes to complete their missions and return to base. The mission is still in testing to some extent with regard to how vehicles complete their runs (tanks/convoys and trains), but this should improve in the future. There are some temporary base flips as well fuel depots are hit to slow down the opposing team. More information is provided in the briefing also. Map should hold about ~40+ participants. If you are hosting this map in the multiplayer folder, remember to delete the large 4mb .mission file, as it is unnecessary. The map works for single player, only a spawn point would need to be added in the desired location, as well as some extra AI aircraft. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44387240/Vluki-030_FMap20.zip Edit 1: Inside the zip you should find files with "035" in the name, these have correctly working trains that reach the center of town. Edit 2: Inside the zip you should find files with "037" in the name, Strengthened counter logic for primary and secondary goals to avoid crashes. Edit 3: Inside the zip you should find files with "038" in the name, accidentally left mission is SP mode after testing. Edit 4: Inside the zip you should find files with "045" in the name, Optimized some triggers, changed many Flak guns over to AA machine gun fire, several AI planes heading for targets on the opposite side of the map for the first participants. Second Mission Map below is Moscow for 50 participants. A little different from the first. All active airfields can be captured by landing your plane and taxing over to the Flag. The pilot must wait until his Flag is raised all the way to the top of the pole, to capture airfield and repair the AAA installations. Capture enemy airfields to force your opposition to pursue secondary goals and fail primary goals! (Sort of like a Risk map?) Ground war available by using tanks in one part of the map. All airfields on map are armed. If you are hosting this map in the multiplayer folder, remember to delete the large 10mb .mission file, as it is unnecessary. There is still some extra actions that I wanted to link up depending on what happens during gameplay but I will wait until we go to dx11. Both missions were created with the idea that they be set up as navigation plane icon only at most, but this up to you when hosting the mission. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44387240/Moscow_Winter_033_fullmap.zip Edited November 14, 2016 by Smok 2
MF-Belgarufo Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Here are the eight MP missions I am currently running. 6 BOS and 2 BOM. They are all tested but a couple are not completely finished. They all fly just fine though, plenty to do, maps are well marked, subtitles and mission objectives are included. Most also have an end timer. All except for RTVUFO and AQMUFO will start up with a tick delay of 0.0 and stay that way until a player logs on. In all cases the missions don't "start" until a player spawns. I hope these help! This is the link to my FTP folder where I store these things. http://jdmadsen.net/ftp/Missions/IL2%20BOS/MP/ 2
SYN_Haashashin Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I have to take a look at my library and update some missions but will share some SYN missions.
No601_Swallow Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) A Recent Tangmere Pilots Coop (just copied from our forum. Coz I'm lazy. It's a little rough round the edges, but it worked ok): Estimated mission duration: 40-60 mins. Estimated number of pilots: between 8 and 20 pilots. Stalingrad 1b_07.zip Briefing: On 21 August 1942, infantry companies from General von Seydlitz's L1 Corps crossed the Don at dawn in inflatable assault boats. They rapidly established a bridgehead near the village of Luchinsky. More and more companies paddled furiously over the broad expanse of water. A few miles downstream at Vertyachy, a whole battalion crossed the Don in relays in less than seventy minutes. Once bridgeheads were secured, pioneer battalions went to work building pontoon bridges to take the tanks and other vehicles of General von Wietersheim's XIV Panzer Corps. The German pioneers, intrigued by the mysterious contrasts of the 'quiet Don', referred to the river affectionately as 'the stream'. A number of soldiers and officers in the Sixth Army seem to have fallen for this stretch of Don Cossack country. Some dreamed of having a farm there once the war was won. Soon after midday on 22 August, the bridge was ready, and General Hube's 16th Panzer Division, ' the battering ram of the corps', began to cross. The tanks, half-tracks, self-propelled assault guns, eight-wheeled reconnaissance vehicles and trucks rattled deafeningly over the pontoon bridge. That night, as soon as the moon rose, Russian aircraft began their bombing runs... Beevor (1998), Stalingrad, p.102 Comrades, I hope you've been eating your carrots. We will stop the fascists in their tracks. We'll pound them into dust. The banks of the Don will be the fascists' graveyard. Our Il-2s will visit death on the invaders and sweep those bridges into the river. We fly with the moonrise. All in one server this week. All pilots in IL-2’s. Stalingrad 1B – mission 07 Briefing 01:30. 22 August 1942. 21 ShAP (Ground-attack Aviation Regiment) of the 206 ShAD (Ground-attack Aviation Division) Karpovka airfield. 21 ShAP BRIEFING:- The fascists have crossed the Don. We are now the only thing that can stop their Panzer formations from tearing the city of Stalingrad to pieces. They have built two pontoon bridges in the vicinity of the villages of Vertyacky and Peshkovatka to the north of Karpovka. We must destroy those bridges, so the Red Army can exterminate those who have already crossed the river. We will strike at night, while the fascists' air cover may be less effective. However, expect ground defenses. The Germans have had the afternoon to establish a bridgehead. No doubt, ourcomrade kapitan will split our strike force into two, the first going to the Vertyacky target on a heading of 347 and the second attacking Peshkovatka on a heading of 328. We'll attack at low altitude if possible. The moon is nearly full, and visibility is good. The enemy are close now. Flying time to the target area is less than ten minutes. It is only prudent at this stage of the struggle that our regiment's commissars and their Revolutionary Military Council should evacuate to the east. To this end, they are travelling to Gumrak, where they can better supervise and direct our ideological battle with the invaders. METEOROLOGICAL REPORT:- Clear skies. Wind at 4m/s from the west. Temperature 8c. SIGNALS:- 21 ShAP call sign – SWAN Ground control – MAPLE IL-2 Skin: TP personal IL-2M42_Summer skin. Arming: 100% fuel. 23mm VYa 23 cannon, 4x FAB50 bombs or 2x FAB100 bombs Mod: Optional rear gunner. MISSION SUCCESS:- 1 MP for destroying each pontoon bridge (two in total). Re-spawns are only available for technical problems. If you mess up your take-off you’ll be sitting out the mission. Runway 271 isn't particularly long: don't dawdle before rotating. Edit: Runway spawn, engines on; so check throttle is idle before spawning. Once take-offs have started, latecomers should wait until all are up before spawning in late. [by the way, apologies for the spotlights on spawning. They seemed like a good idea at the time.] Stalingrad 1b_07.zip Edited May 31, 2016 by No601_Swallow
curiousGamblerr Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Hey all- I've been messing around with hosting a server, and I've figured it out, but now I don't have any missions to run! So I'm glad I found this thread. Thanks for all the hard work!
Urra Posted November 14, 2016 Author Posted November 14, 2016 Updated my first mission in first post above and added second mission files for Moscow map for whoever wants to use them.
