Obviously the patch has messed something up but I cannot see what....any ideas would be really appreciated!!! From the patch note...could it be related to this? 57. Mission designers now can hide an object so it won't have an icon and F5 camera won't show it. Just give it the name NOICON; 58. Mission designers can increase the visibility distance of ground object markers by giving them name FARICON; Or this? 61. It is easier to drag a group of objects in mission editor;

6./ZG26_Emil Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Well this is weird, I've tried making new icons, they don't show up. Then I tried saving the whole template and importing it into a new map and that didn't help. It's almost like there is some secret option to turn them off :S

Urra Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) So your filter is "on" in the editor, and each icon is enabled... What else could there be? Does it behave differently for icons with and without names now? Did you group the icons? They are still visible for me. On the other hand, the GUI Stalingrad map is shifted. JimTM Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Try this: Enable the HUD (BoS setting is "Show/hide entire HUD") and show the navigation markers (BoS setting is "Show/hide instrument panel, navigation and map markers"). Enable navigation markers for the mission. To enable navigation markers, go to the BoS mission list, click the "Realism" button, and select the "Navigation Markers" check box.

They appeared at some point, 10min before the mission ended on TAW. Next mission, they were gone again. Good thing they also have the mission map on their web page, I used that instead. Right, but what if one wants objective icons but no GPS? Anyway, I suspect it's a bug. I also noticed the game had the rolling waiting icon for a long time after I connected to the TAW server, I mean longer than usual. I had noticed earlier that icons could take some time before they were updated on the map. Something to do with network load on the server, I guess. They are probably low-priority comparing to plane position updates, shots fired... EDIT: I just saw 5stuka's poste there: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/22221-zg26-sunday-night-impromptu-co-op-bom-only/?p=358217 Pls make sure to follow these instructions to enable map icons: 1. Join the ZG26 Coop server 2. Spawn in an aircraft with your laodout as usual 3. Once spawned access your Interface settings threw ESC -> Setting -> Basic Options. Change any of the Interface settings (Instrument Panel, Minimap Size, ect). 4. Get back to the mission screen and press O to check your map. Icons should now be displayed as supposed. After icons appeared you can change settings again to what you had before, they should stay. Edit: Changing settings in the main menu does not solve the issue. You have to be on the server. TP_Jacko Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I just had a problem in the editor with no icons showing although the could be selected from the object lis. It was odd because I placed an plane ok then a translator icon and they dissapeared. I then closed the editor and ran the ResetEditorSettings.cmd file and it was all ok again in the editor.

Those settings are not supposed to apply to MP as far as I understand it but every time I start a game and then join my server all the icons etc disappear and I have to do this again each time. I'm surprised other people aren't raising hell on the other server threads....or is it just mine?

VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Four of us were in Tactical Air War. Three of us could not see the front or target icons on the map and one could. I changed my mini-map setting to Compact and all the icons showed. The other two did the same and it solved the problem. This is odd because two of us were in WOL before the change and could see the icons there.

Some plane modifications in the campaign won't be incorrectly shown when in fact they weren't unlocked; 2. Map markings will appear correctly in multiplayer; 3. Plane markers won't appear after entering and exiting a gunner seat of another player plane on Expert difficulty in multiplayer; 4. Turn function works fine in bomb sight when mouse control is enabled; 5. Mouse control improved for Fw 190.

Unfortunately the game still reverts back to the Missions and/or Dogfight Server selection screen as before when attempting to fly a Single and now I find Multiplayer Mission in our Dogfight Server which I have created and has Icons: "Bug in Single player too for Custom Built Missions. Missions using Icons load from 75 to 99% then crash back to the Single Mission and now I find Multiplayer GUI screen with the "Please Wait" and Working Cursor deal." Others are not able to join the server missions and have the same crash back to GUI selector result. Which doesn't make any sense to me. I had hoped that using the Icon Groupings I had saved to file would work. Nope, Mission is not playable as before. The only workaround for me is to completely redo the Translator: Icons for all Missions. So at least there's a workaround option.
