Hi

I have been flying this sim for a few months using mouse and keyboard and i would like to take the plunge and start flying stick. Could anyone here recommend me a good entry level stick. My budget is no more than £50 and i would need to have twist rudder dude to not having enough space for pedals.

Thank you

T.1600M - the only "entry level" joystick with HALL sensor in aileron and elevator axes that you can buy for now.

Or wait the announced VKB Gladiator hit the market although this will cost more than 50$ - it  was annouced for 99$.

+1 on the T1600M

an alternative/parallel approach is to look out for a second hand Microsoft FFB2 which can sometimes be found for very reasonable bargain prices depending on where you live (assume UK) it has great longevity/build quality

Mouse and keyboard! Yikes!

Yea FF Sidewinder is the best, hard wearing and reall built to last. Unfortunately they`re discontinued- Dunno why as they are excellent.

Another `emergency` stick i sometimes use is the `AV8tor` or Aviator.  Great stick with a decent amount of buttons and two throttles on it. Not sure if they still do them though...

Using the TM T-Flight HOTAS X at the moment, hasn't failed me yet.

I'm gonna go with the T.1600M. On another note would it be a god idea to buy a throttle as well or is that not needed right away?

Wait for the VKB Gladiator to be released in the next couple of weeks. It's been announced for $99, so slightly more than £50, but it'd be far superior to the T.1600M

Throttle that you can buy new standalone an can be used with any joystick brand::

Warthog throttle (expensive and too "jet" oriented...)

CH PRO throttle

CH Quadrant

Saitek Throttle Quadrant (pot' issues)

That you can buy used (look at eBay...) and work standalone with any joystick brand:

Saitek X-52 throttle

Saitek X-55 throttle

I have had good experience with my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

My throttle is the base from a Mad Catz FLY 5 :P

The FLY 5 was terrible, throttles were nice though.

T.16000M is a great stick. For throttle you could build out your pit later with a Saitek throttle. That one isn't too pricey atleast. So far no pot issues, but my saitek pedals have some issues and need cleaning now and then, so they might not use the best pots in the world:-p

Plus 1 on this. The fact that you can use it all in one unit or separate it out into stick and throttle is a definite selling point.

I have that too and I like it because of the rudder control it has. It is, however, way too stiff for me. Makes it harder to control the plane accurately and RoF is tiring to play with it cause there's no trim controls. Also it's a bit too big, but I guess when you speak of flying sticks, my hand is just too small.
