Dave Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 While skimming the AWM's archive recently I came across their large audio collection. Along with their PDF transcripts (making searching easier) they are fascinating. This one - a 1993 interview of WGCDR Bobby Gibbes is of particular interest in relating his experiences of rivalry between 3SQN and 112SQN RAF and his candid assessments of Clive Caldwell. You get a sense of some level of disdain in there. Really interesting. There are hours and hours of material to read, listen to and watch (old 8/16mm film from the front lines). Worth a look. 4
Feathered_IV Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Thanks dave, I'm looking forward to listening to more of these this evening too. There's a whole lot of stuff from Roy Conyers Nesbitt too dealing with his time flying Beauforts out of Malta. Should be very interesting indeed.
