Where are those missionreport.txt files coming from?

Today I opened il2bos's data folder, I am shocked by those more than 10k missionreport.txt files, each one has a name like

missionReport(2016-02-09_22-55-17)[5].txt

if I fly in the game, such file will be automatic generated, the generating rate is about 3 files per minute like computer virus, The content in it is like,

T:0 AType:15 VER:17
T:5758 AType:4 PLID:31743 PID:32767 BUL:1200 SH:0 BOMB:0 RCT:0 (118598.789,5000.015,186593.109)
T:5759 AType:16 BOTID:32767 POS(118597.063,4999.974,186593.266)
T:5760 AType:7
So my question is what is it? How can I disable this annoying auto population?

Thanks a lot guys.

~S~ Gustav,

In the data subfolder, open the file "Startup.cfg" using Notepad or the ilk, and scroll to the Header Section :

[KEY = system]
 bin_log_folder = ""
 chatlog = 0
 debug_info = 0
 dlgbox_sky = 0
 gamelog = 0
 keep_binary_log = 0
 mgenlog = 0
 mission_text_log = 0
 modes = 0
 playoffline = 0
 reset_configs = 0
 show_net_skins = 1
 skin_dir = "graphics\Skins\"

In there you can use =0 (false) or =1 (true) as values.

Close the file, and Yes to Save Changes, to apply your editing.

Good Hunting!

Bonus Information :

If/when you guys start hosting private Dservers, there is also a log pile up in the Game folder as well... I don't see any entries in my archives in order to prevent them, I just flush them (delete).

And Double Bonus Information : Those Deserver logs are from many testing sessions. The Screenshots you see in this folder are created by SweetFX when you have that installed, and often...

show a screenshot in "a frame different from the stock games capture", sometimes producing a "better or more detailed picture" because of the shader injector. Otherwise delete as duplicates.

If you use PWCG or Warham's tool or another 3rd party tool with debriefing option, probably log files is necessary.

~S~ Nooby,

Good point, and there answer is a definitely... since those things operate that way.

He didn't specify that detail, but it would be true, and should be included in those offerings documentations, see "Read-Me".

Good Looking Out,

I'm fairly certain PWCG for RoF had the ability to delete them automatically in the GIU but it is not available for BoS. I just delete them manually evey couple of days.

It is the mission text log set to 1.

PWCG for BOS most certainly has the ability to delete the files automatically.

In Configuration, go to user preferences and set the top line to 1 (it says: delete all mission log files).

Note to self - make that the default.  That was not the default early on in BoS to help with debugging, but we are past that point.

Thank you all guys for the great help. :salute:  I think it is caused by the PWCG. I changed it to 1 according to the readme file.

When flying in PWCG you should leave it at 1.

I do also fly the sim without using PWCG. Then once every couple of days, I select those files and delete them.

For me it's easier this way then setting it to 0 every time.
