1CGS LukeFF Posted January 28, 2016 1CGS Posted January 28, 2016 (edited) As the cockpits for the three new planes are essentially the same as the older ones, this update will simply look at what changes can be found with the new planes:Bf 109 F-2:Max Continuous Power: 1.18 ataMax Combat Power: 1.28 ataEmergency Power: 1.3 ata and higherWater radiators: when manually controlled, they have only two positions: fully open or fully closed.Tail Wheel: lockableAdjustable Trim: Horizontal StabilizerPe-2 (Series 35):Prop RPM is controlled with the existing keyboard commands. Two gauges (one for each engine) show the current fuel mixture ratio. They can be found to the right of the gunsight on the upper panel.Adjustable trim: pitch, roll, and yawOil and water radiators can be controlled via analog or keyboard commands.Il-2 (Model 1941):Plane is fitted with an oxygen systemOil and water radiators can be controlled via analog or keyboard commands.Adjustable Trim: pitchTail Wheel: lockableOne control panel governs the release of both bombs and rockets, as well as one trigger on the flight stick. There is a switchboard to the right of the pilot that will move up & down when firing/releasing bombs or rockets and when setting their release mode. All keyboard commands for bombs and rockets are the same as before. Edited January 28, 2016 by LukeFF 2
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Engine values on the F-2 seem not to represent a DB601 N engine. What kind of engine is mounted (DB601Aa?)?

bivalov Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 (edited) it is absolutely correct - http://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_03_2014/post-532-0-78476200-1395108823.jpgand also from 177 developer diary - http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/168-developer-diary/page-3?do=findComment&comment=315273 Edited January 28, 2016 by bivalov

Would be important to check it myself especially from when it is. Fact is the values in the OP are wrong. The DB601N could sustain 1.42ata like any other german engine of the time. Operation values should be*: Höchstzulässige Dauerleistung: 1.15 ata @ 2300 RPM (max continues power) Steig und Kampfleistung: 1.3 ata @ 2400 RPM (30min) (climb and combat power) Erhöhte Kampfleistung: 1.35ata @ 2600 RPM (3min as stated by biavlovs manual extract) (increased combat power) Start und Notleistung 1.42ata @ 2700 RPM (1min) (Takeoff and emergency power) * the "Kennblatt" ercerp I posted states in the bottom column, that "Kampfleistung" had been temporarily reduced to 1.25ata and "Start und Notleitsung" to 1.35ata, hence why a comparison of release dates is important.

6./ZG26_5tuka Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Thanks for your links biavlov, some good materials in there. As suspected most documents stating 1.25 combat and 1.35 emergency rating are from early 1941 and prior. I've run a brief test ingame and am glad that everything is working properly, means: Dauerleistung - 1.15 ata - continously Kampfleistung - 1.3 ata - 30min Erhöhte Kampfleitsung - 1.35 ata - 3min (got "emergency mode expirienced" message after 2'15, engine didn't suffer damage though) Start und Notleistung - 1.42 ata - 1min (boost won't cut off after 1min, automatic boost device is not implemented) Only thing that I noticed was that at 1.3 ata the engine keeps 2500 RPM. All manuals threwout mention 2400 RPM for 1.3 ata (and 1.25 ata).
