Gimbal Upgrade Kit Current owners of the Black Mamba Mk. This gimbal offers improved precision and feel with its cam based design. MSRP is $169.99 for U.S. addresses and $179.99 for Canadian addresses. Flight Stick Extension If you have a custom cockpit and want to extend the shaft of your VKB stick, Stratojet is now accepting pre-orders of the Flight Stick Extension. Sokol1 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 For reference, the extension dimension is 20 cm. http://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_11_2014/post-979-0-12119400-1416370086.png
II./JG77_Manu* Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 The base will have to use incredible strong springs, to make the stick self-centering with a 40cm lever...with my Warhog and the 10cm extension it's already very light. I am interested, if and how they gonna achieve that 1
ST_Pirato Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) I have a Fat Black Mamba Mk.I. I tried to order an Extension back then, but I have been told by VKB that the extensions where not made for the "Fat" version of the stick ,because of all the additional electronics, buttons etc. inside the base there where no room for the Springs that are needed to hold the extended stick centered. Is this still the case? Edited November 17, 2015 by ST_Pirato
Jason_Williams Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 Pirato, That may not be the case with the MK.3 because it has a different gimbal, but I will check. Jason
Warpig Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Are these Warthog adapters in limited supply?
Weegie Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Jason Did you get any news on the extension. Eduard of VKB Europe states I can order one but of course its going to make the base controls hard to access on the FBM Does it come with stronger springs? Do you happen to know if they are going to offer shorter extensions in the future, I'd love to get a 10cm extension, 20 is a bit too awkward for the FBM I reckon Finally I am guessing that some sort of Warthog extender would not work as the threads will be different
Jason_Williams Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Ventus, The new gimbal does have stronger springs so the extension will work. I don't know if we will ever offer a shorter extension. Jason
Weegie Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Many thanks for the reply Jason I'll probably get the extension, going to be a whole new adventure to see how I can mount it and also access the FBM base controls
