VKB Black Mamba Mods Available for Pre-Order at Stratojet

Warthog Adapter

 

The Warthog Adapter for the Black Mamba line of joysticks allows a user to swap out the standard Black Mamba grip for the Thrustmaster® Warthog™ grip. This gives users a choice in what style grip they prefer to use. The Warthog Adapter is available for pre-order at an MSRP of $39.99 for U.S. addresses. $49.99 for Canadian addresses. 

 

 

Gimbal Upgrade Kit

 

Current owners of the Black Mamba Mk. I or Mk.II joysticks now have the choice to pre-order a Gimbal Upgrade kit and bring their older Black Mamba stick up to the current standard with the new all-metal gimbal found in the Limited Edition Mk.III model. This gimbal offers improved precision and feel with its cam based design. MSRP is $169.99 for U.S. addresses and $179.99 for Canadian addresses. 

 

 

Flight Stick Extension

 

If you have a custom cockpit and want to extend the shaft of your VKB stick, Stratojet is now accepting pre-orders of the Flight Stick Extension. This extension is slightly curved to allow for clearance of the seat front and make reaching the stick more comfortable, just like in real fighter planes. MSRP is $69.99 for U.S. addresses and $79.99 for Canadian addresses.

The base will have to use incredible strong springs, to make the stick self-centering with a 40cm lever...with my Warhog and the 10cm extension it's already very light. I am interested, if and how they gonna achieve that

I have a Fat Black Mamba Mk.I. I tried to order an Extension back then,but I have been told by VKB that the extensions where not made for the "Fat" version of the stick ,because of all the additional electronics,buttons etc. inside the base there where no room for the Springs that are needed to hold the extended stick centered. Is this still the case?

That may not be the case with the MK.3 because it has a different gimbal, but I will check.

Did you get any news on the extension. Eduard of VKB Europe states I can order one but of course its going to make the base controls hard to access on the FBM

 

Does it come with stronger springs?

 

Do you happen to know if they are going to offer shorter extensions in the future, I'd love to get a 10cm extension, 20 is a bit too awkward for the FBM I reckon

 

Finally I am guessing that some sort of Warthog extender would not work as the threads will be different

The new gimbal does have stronger springs so the extension will work. I don't know if we will ever offer a shorter extension.
