Dear skiners and pilots,

I'm about to release a new BF109 skin : the plane of  Hptm. Herbert Ihlefeld I./LG2 Gruppencommander during the Barbarossa campain in 1941.

This skin is a personnal interpretation of one profile :

151120-BF109E7-001.jpg

And of two historic pictures (swastikas inside) :

The profile suggests a repaint in gray RLM75, but I'm not sure this color was available on the eastern front a the time. Nevertheless the pictures shows a quite dark and plaint paint scheme suggesting a repainting "on the field" to hide the yellow painting of some of the upper surfaces.

When looking closely at the picture of the rudder on can see that the victories marking are painted on a likely hand brushed yellow overcoat and also that the RLM02/71 paint scheme remains on the upper tail.

From these elements I decided to make a skin from a classical RLM02/71/65 paint scheme with a RLM71 (most likely available at the time) repaint on some parts of the fuselage. Other upper surfaces remaining unchanged.

Here is the result (with a new color tuning for the RLM02) :

The skin should be released soon ...

Cheers.

Ventus and Boomer, thank you for your replies and help, I've managed to work out how to do it. Probably not that elegantly, but still..... I am in awe of all you "skinners", thank you so very much for your incredible work, and for adding so much to this amazing Sim. :thank_you:

Hello everyone!

Two skins of the Bf 109 E of the St.III JG 27. The first is of a Bf 109 E-4b and the other
a Bf 109 E-7 Trop. The second I made especially for the catchy combination of colors,
because the lack of anti-sand filter would have to make me give ...

Thanks AussieBoomer!
If I had the anti-sand filter for the Bf 109 E-7,
it would be more correct ...

AussieBoomer will we ever get to fly with your excellent skins or are they all private?  :)

Bullets,

The download links for each of the skins is under the pictures. The only skin I didn't put a download for was my pers skin.

If you have any trouble let me know.

Cheers,

Aussie Boomer.

  Today I finished these Skins:
  Bf 109E - 4, Stab I.JG3 Günther Lützow, France 1940
  A two variations  ( 70/71 and 71/02 RLM ) of Bf109E-4 , Hptm Wilhelm Balthasar, Kommandeur of III / JG3, France 1940.

Skins are upon request mate, I just could not decide which of variants of camouflage for this period.  So I did both.

Thanks, I know.  Just when I was doing the skin, it was due to my inattention to the complete destruction of my template and the loss of all layers.  Dozens of hours of work has vanished.  Even now, when I'm writing I'm afraid of a heart attack.  the skin is actually posthumous.  Its VIP remained as bmp file on my desktop, missing only Wübke emblem.  Somehow I do not force it to do all over again now.  Anyway, again, better. :dash: :dash:

LOL Brother I cannot tell you how many times that has happened to me. Infact all of my 109 skins on this forum are now gone. I have to remake all of them due to an HDD crash.

Just want to drop by saying I'm currently workin on this one:

LL24t2s.jpg

It's a Bf-109 T from 11./JG.11 and it's progressing nicely, although due to a computer malufunction causing random crashes work is slowed down. I can not say when this one will be finished. :(

Here you go :)

Unfortunately I couldn't find much information on this machines history nor get a good view of the wing painting (I used a standrad Emil-paint scheme for them instead). Most Bf-109 Ts served in training units (hence I went for a rather clean look) while waiting for the never arriving completion of the Graf Zeppelin aircrfat carrier. Some Bf-109 Ts were refitted and assingned to combat units in the east where at least some saw action.
