1CGS LukeFF Posted October 27, 2015 1CGS Posted October 27, 2015 A couple of changes were made to the weapon commands for a number of the planes, in order to bring them more in line with reality: Fw 190: Weapon Group 1 now fires the MG 17 machine guns and the MG151/20 cannons Weapon Group 2 now fires the MG FF/M cannons (if installed) Bf 109 F-4 and G-2: When gunpods are installed, Weapon Group 1 now fires the MG 17s and the nose-mounted cannon, and Weapon Group 2 fires the gunpodsLa-5: Weapon Group 1 now fires the cannons, instead of the old Weapon Group 2 6
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Nice, glad to see that those things are getting worked out. Thanks for sharing. Edited October 27, 2015 by Space_Ghost
Finkeren Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Good stuff. So it's pretty much how it was in IL2-1946?
simplyjames Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Is that how it worked in real life? That's gonna' be weird to get used to.
150GCT_Veltro Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 19. F4 whell polycount is now the same of G2
1CGS LukeFF Posted October 27, 2015 Author 1CGS Posted October 27, 2015 Is that how it worked in real life? That's gonna' be weird to get used to. Yes
1CGS LukeFF Posted November 24, 2015 Author 1CGS Posted November 24, 2015 ...and now add to the above the following: the Ju 87's 37mm cannons are now assigned to Weapon Group 1.
=FI=Blue2 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Good stuff. So it's pretty much how it was in IL2-1946? I'm pretty sure that the 1946 FW-190 fired the MG-17s separately from the inboard MG151's. Not 100% certain, but almost so, because I always liked it that way. Can't recall how 1946 treated the outboard cannons on the FW models that had them, i.e. which 'weapon group' fired those. I do recall that you could enable and disable gun pods. I think that applied to every plane that could carry them. I'd rather have MG-17 only on weapon group 1 for the 190, personally. They have so much more ammo than the cannons, you'd think the pilot would prefer the option to fire them separately if possible. So, surprised to hear that in real life they were slaved to the same firing button as the inboard 151's. Anyway, I agree - very nice to see little details like this being addressed. Thanks for passing along, Luke!

The MG17s were initially fired separately from the cannons in IL2 but were eventually changed to be like they are now in BoS. Thanks for passing along, Luke! Sure thing!
