Guest deleted@50488 Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Above all, looking at these videos pretty much answers all of my question regarding the accuracy of ground physics in IL2 BoS, when it comes to the 109s It's evident that 1C / 777 captured exactly the behavior of the real aircraft, and the required use of right rudder input, almost permanent, while taxiing straight along the tw. Nice footage, and EXCELLENT SIM!
Finkeren Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I'm going to see one of those at Roskilde the day after tomorrow (propably gonna be 'Rote Sieben' - the same aircraft that crash landed there last year) I'm giddy as a schoolgirl at a frat party 1
Mags Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Take nice pictures, Finkeren, and enjoy your time with those aircraft. I was in the Messerschmittmuseum in Manching this June and saw all of their Bf109 and Me 262. They were all in for an overhaul exept Red 7 that were in England.
Finkeren Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Well, I went and saw the 109 fly today (great show BTW, last time I was at an air show was like 20 years ago - a lot has happened since) Biggest take away about the Bf 109 is just how LOUD that Daimler-Benz is, especially when taxiing on the ground. You don't get the impression from watching videos from air shows, but it completely drowned out the Merlin powered Mustang and Spit

Hope I can attend an airshow again anytime soon as well... The loudest aircraft I've heared definetly is the Skyraider. I bet even the 109 stands no chance against this monster with it's 3000 hp engine! Edited August 16, 2015 by Stab/JG26_5tuka
Finkeren Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 The loudest piston engined aircraft, I think you mean. At the show there were also F-16s and a Eurofighter, and oh boy.... The Eurofighter engaging its afterburners during a zoom climb with its tail pointing right at us might just be the loudest sound I've ever heard.
