1CGS LukeFF Posted August 11, 2015 1CGS Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) These are some notes I gathered about the MC.202 during testing, in regards to the engine: Max continuous power is equivalent to 1.23 ata. The white triangle on the manifold pressure gauge also corresponds to the max continuous power rating. Combat power runs from 1.24 ata to 1.35 ata. Emergency power runs from 1.36 ata to 1.45 ata. The red triangle in the cockpit shows the maximum power the engine can put out. Water and oil radiators are manually controlled. On the oil and water temperature gauge, there are two needles: E and U. The E is for intake temperature (entrare) and the U is for output temperature (uscire). The prop RPM can be run in automatic or manual mode, like in the 109 or 190. Supercharger is automatic. Edited February 26, 2016 by LukeFF 7
Luger1969 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Thanks so much Luke. I was looking for this info all over the net and found zero..perhaps i am not looking in right places. Please please do this for next releases as well it is a great help. It gives you a place to start. Do you perhaps know what was the normal practice was for rpm.? Auto or manual. Thanks again.
AwesomeSprawvy Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Yes, thank you! This is great information.
Saurer Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) In the DD#92 is stated that the engine has to constant RPM positions, one at 2200 and one at 2400. Isn't the automatic just the 2200 and the boost the 2400 RPM Position? The boost controll does override the manuel mode too Edited August 11, 2015 by Saurer

And yes, I do plan on doing this for every plane. As for RPM, I am not sure on that one.
El_Babuino Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I have question. What kind lever is that? It can operating, but nothing happens. Looks like it must do something with radiators. Is it bug?https://youtu.be/OPe-kkT6_GM

Is it bug? Looks like a possible bug with the water radiator handle. I'll test it for myself and file a report if it proves to be a bug. Thanks!
Cybermat47 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Thanks for the info, Luke. Maybe this is a plane I won't break
4SCT_Vespa Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Luke...invaluable help and info. Thanks a lot for sharing
Bert_Foster Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 My take on the MC202 Engine limits/operation based on loosely translating MC202 manual then testing in game.
Rothko Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Thanks for the great info! I'm looking forward to flying the Folgore soon in BoM
1CGS LukeFF Posted February 25, 2016 Author 1CGS Posted February 25, 2016 An update on how the 202's engine boost works now: with the engine boost off, the engine cannot be pushed above max continuous power. When boost is engaged, the engine can then be pushed into higher power settings.
