coconut Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 It seems to me the game is just too bright during the day by default. I'm curious to see how many other people use a gamma value for darker settings.
6./ZG26_Emil Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Yep it's way to bright. I drop mine down to 0.5 and sometimes 0.55 depending on weather and time.
coconut Posted June 21, 2015 Author Posted June 21, 2015 I just tried 0.5. The instruments in the Lagg were not all easily readable. Solved the problem by turning the instruments light on. So that's what they are for Never had any use for them except during night-time before. Maybe 0.5 is a bit too dark. I tried 0.65 earlier, and thought it was still to bright.

Yeh I do use lights sometimes, I wish this was something we could change in game better because it really depends on the time of the day but I've probably got used to it being darker. I also use sweetfx as well.
Dakpilot Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 The problem with using low gamma values, is that this exacerbates the difference in forest colour textures from 3d to the 2d, making the LoD 'bubble' much more obvious Cheers Dakpilot
coconut Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 Playing a pre-dawn mission, before sunrise, I was surprised at how dark it was with Gamma 0.5. In the end, I did not change it, I thought it looked better than the default nights, which are rather bright. People who want dark nights should try it. As a mission maker, I think I'll put more lights in the ground to help navigation (vehicles on roads, small fires in farms and villages...)
