Leaf Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Found it today and skimmed through it, excellent read! http://www.walk77.com/dog/files/luftwaffe_fighter_ace.pdf 6
SharpeXB Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 That was a great book. I like how he flies with his dachshund riding behind him in the Fw 190. His dog is a red long hair just like my "copilot"!
Sokol1 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Interesting book, some curiosity: Until he shoot down the first LaGG, he had destroyed one Luftwaffe biplane trainer, damage two Bf 109 G, and in the process to shoot that LaGG his Fw 190 A-4 was destroyed in a crash landing. Again, the anecdote about the "myth" of need to shoot at IL-2 Sturmovik oil cooler to bring then down more easily. The lack of training in instrument flight for bad weather for most of German fighters pilots (accord this pilot).
