Thought mission builders might appreciate a resource to identify the vehicles and artillery in the game.

The names in the mission builder don't identify country or weapon size (unless you recognize the historical name) so thought this guide might be helpful.  Not perfect, but what I could gleen from Wikipedia.

I was careful with the plan views to keep the scale the same, so could be useful for target i.d. as well

Enjoy!

S!

Nice job. One small correction, it is a Panzer III not a Panzer II.

Sorry, put in the wrong thread....I think I mislabelled the Searchlights too.  Will see if anyone finds anything else and correct.  The list is in excel, may post that too if people want to add there own notes

Excellent list!

Just to let you know, the StuG 40/43 is actually a StuG III Ausf. F, and the StuG 37/24 is actually a StuG III Ausf. A.

Also, the Panzer III is specifically a Panzer III Ausf. J.

yup yup....will make corrections and update next weekend.

A minor correction or two

It's a Panzer III Ausf. L. And the StuG with the long barrel is more commonly known as StuG III Ausf. F/8. The one with the short looks like an Ausf. E. ;)

By viewing what objects are available in mission editor it became clear to me that we will need much more of them to be added. It is kind of backbone group of objects, but we will for sure need rest of the body ;)

What I could not figure out is where soldiers are stored in FMB.Looks like there are no static soldiers models available.I hope we will see more of them coming in BoM or some future update for BoS.

The names can't be correct, but for the purpose of guide to Editor is OK, since the name in Editor is the same of pictures.

At least someone will dont search for "StuG II Ausf. G/8" in Editor to put in missions and dont find. (is Stug37|24 and 40|43) :)

Or put the correct name and the Editor name in pictures. Searchlight names in Editor:

Searchlihtger

Landinglightger

Searchlihtsu

Landinglightsu

Sokol1 makes a good point.

The best would be two columns on the spec sheet, one for the name that is in the Mission Editor so it is easy to find  and than one for the historically correct name.

I actually asked the devs if they intended to add more ground objects and types (like SP guns, armored cars, and horse drawn carriages)  so much of the Russian forces were horse drawn...they haven't answered yet...

so many vehicles missing.

The german army was indeed very much depending on horses too, contrary to common belief, the were using some 600 000 horses (i´ve read in some historical overview) the first year of the Barbarossa campaign! So we´d need german hosrse too!

Hi there,

great work Geezer, that's handy!

a minor issue seems to have slipped through the net though, as the "flak37" looks to be the "8.8 cm Flak 37" actually, not the "3.7 cm Flak 37".

a good addition to your file is to add the ranges of artilleries guns, rocket launchers etc ...  ;)

Posted

Have you got them Foxy? Can't use unGTP since last patch here.

Posted
Yeah I think I've got some of them !

I had to determine them myself with historical data and some tries in the FMB when I was beta testing the mission editor.

It is very useful because if you put units behind their operational ranges they will not fire at all and sometimes you will think your mission is broken whereas it's not

Let's take an example (if my memory is good)

The Nebelwerfer (half track with rocket launchers on his sides) have only a 2.2 km range where BM-13 Katyusha have a range of something like 7 to 8 km

Here's what I extracted a couple version ago:

(AttackDistance)

MG 34 AA: 2 000

2-cm-Flak 38: 2 000

8,8-cm-FlaK 37: 12 500

37-мм 61-К: 3 000

87-мм 52-К: 11 000

Posted

Attack distance in meters, extracted from an older version so may not be accurate.
