303_Kwiatek Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I notice that after update there is microstuttering. Ususally there is micropause for a few second and occasionally there are longer pauses. Before 1.09 was smooth at the same settings. My system: I5 2500K@ 4500 Ghz, 8 GB Ram, GTX 670 OC, Win7 64 bit, Game settings: ultra, AAx2.
Caudron431 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) Same here: i7 4790k, gtx770, 8gb ram, game settings are AAx4, HIGH, vsync on. It is not that annoying but it's less smooth than the last version. Edited February 26, 2015 by RegRag1977
System87 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) Same for me too! I had very smooth game in 1.008, now its horrible. I noticed that it only happens in multyplayer, singelplayer is still very smooth. The stutters happen every 4-5sec constantly, no matter if im alone or if there is furball with 10 planes. (i7@2.8ghz gtx480 8gb ram) --- running multyplayer at low settings didint help, befor update i could play at balanced. Singleplayer i run at high very smooth. SYN_Blackrat Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Interesting only multiplayer, what are your multiplayer settings in game?
NN_RugbyGoth Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I've heard some french players had those stuttering, they updated their drivers and it became smooth again... The problem seems to be with Nvidia cards.
VBF-12_Snake9 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Stutters offline and in multiplayer, although it is worst in multiplayer. Locked at 60 fps but still get stutters. It's the G2 patch all over again.
System87 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Interesting only multiplayer, what are your multiplayer settings in game? Multy low settings max resolution and AA x2 vsync 60fps
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 1.09 is smooth as silk for me, i notice that "zoom in" is way more optimized than was before. 2
-TBC-AeroAce Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 This stuttering has always been there on mp espesialy if there are a load of people online in a close space but it defo seems like it has got worse after the last update. This really needs to get fixed. I have tried bringing this up before but it tends to get moved to bug section and then people dont see it.

Jason_Williams Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Have you guys tried flying in windowed mode? In the past this was smoother. Jason
303_Kwiatek Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Not tried but before 1.09 it wasn't nessesery play in window mode casue game was smooth
SYN_Jedders Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Same effect tbh, Jason. Tried in windowed and fullscreen. Definitely something amiss here
Jade_Monkey Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 It's smoother than before for me. That's strange
DD_Arthur Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 How do u do windowed mode? Click on your launcher and then click on settings on right. Then uncheck "Full screen mode". I haven't tried multiplayer since this new update but yeah, some stutter has been introduced in single player. Fairly minor for me but its there.
Urra Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 The stutter was there before the update for me. So it's not strictly the update. I did manage to get rid of it after a few hours of experimentation, and the stutters are mostly non-existent. If anything the update improved things for me. So not sure what it really is.
ema33ig Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 The same with me. MPlayer is not fun... i7 2600 4190MHz, GTX 780 Ti, 8GB RAM MP setup: ultra, no AA, vsync 60fps, FlightFX
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) Update your video drivers, http://www.nvidia.com/content/global/global.php Make a profile that is in the video console 3D setup application only if you have NVIDIA try these settings... Edited February 26, 2015 by 71st_Mastiff
SYN_Jedders Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) I tested in MP a bit more and there seems to be a rhythmic 2-3 second packet loss stutter. It drops up to 5 frames asa result. You don't have to be airborne or in a fight...sitting on the runway seems to be the same. I think the patch may have reset everyone's launcher settings to seeding again. I'm wondering if related to that?... Edited February 26, 2015 by SYN_Jedders 1
KoN_ Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Just flown on servers tonight i tried different ones , confirm stutters even after nvidia control settings change ect ect , was silk smooth before patch . however in record no stutters smooth game play . multiplayer related .
303_Kwiatek Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 I checked offline mission and didn't notice similar microstutters. It looks that it affected only online gameplay.
Glox_Lynx Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) Same for me,2 very annoying i did try your settings 71 st_Mastiff , no better!! hmm i hade higer settings before. its micro stuttering all the time. and i just got a new pc just to get the game working. realy dont know what to do,, it whas better before hope u can find a solution. i7-4790k 4.0 ghz 16 GB Ram geforce gtx 970 Edited February 27, 2015 by SvAF/F19_Glox
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 are you guys setting your MP down and up? in MP settings?
Urra Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I checked offline mission and didn't notice similar microstutters. It looks that it affected only online gameplay. Try maybe to turn sound quality to minimum and change texture file data to be same thoughout for all lines (make everything match the first line), so that textures are not switched Constantly. That's all I got.
Glox_Lynx Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 okej i think i got it working so far!! i unbox the fullscreenmode and things start to look great..i test more.
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Install " Ge Force Experience, this will install the latest Nvidia drivers automatically [out with the old, in with the new!]
voncrapenhauser Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 1.09 is smooth as silk for me, i notice that "zoom in" is way more optimized than was before. Same here. Guess were the lucky ones.

I checked offline mission and didn't notice similar microstutters. It looks that it affected only online gameplay. Can you confirm your seed is switched off before you go online ? -TBC-AeroAce Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Can we have some official advice or feedback on this because it's really ruining my online experience. It existed before and I always assumed it was known about and would be one of the things that would get ironed out. I think my system should be ok: fx 8350, 8gb Ram, gtx 770. It fine on sp ultra with a high level of plane, really think this is mp rerelated, please fix or it unplayable for me 1
ShamrockOneFive Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I've been having some issues myself but I've assumed it's mostly because I built my PC in 2010 and because this is the most demanding piece of software I have. I did a GeForce driver update last night and that helps. You may also want to check your nVidia settings (as others have suggested) but pay special attention to the power settings. Adaptive is great for most applications but some applications don't seem to trigger the GPU to maintain full power mode so sometimes it throttles up and down constantly causing spikes. I've had trouble with several games so for many I just set that setting from Adaptive to Full Power.
SR-F_Winger Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 +1 I experience the stuttering as well. And my squadateys mentioned htey have it also yesterday too. I will be trying to run "windowed" as Jason suggested. I hope this doesnt take away from my SLI performance?
303_Kwiatek Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Can you confirm your seed is switched off before you go online ? (it is the same thing after each big update since beginning of EA .....) Seed is off in il2 launcher

Ala13_Kike Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 People with microshuttering, have you changed your terrain.ini file, increasing his values? I have this file without changes, and no microshuttering for me, in low and high altitude and with good quantity of aircrafts in MP in front my in dogfight (DED Normal) I don't know if this can affect...or not
Urra Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Would be great if they allowed the game game to load more files into ram while running. For me it's only loads 800-900 megs when running and so much is sitting unused..
KoN_ Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) Has any one got a fix for this . Edited February 28, 2015 by II./JG77_Con
CaK_Rumcajs Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Would be great if they allowed the game game to load more files into ram while running. For me it's only loads 800-900 megs when running and so much is sitting unused.. Windows caches the files for the game. All you need to do is provide enough RAM. Equip your machine with 16GB of RAM and see the difference between "free" and "available" memory in task manager.
