Sokol1 Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 ... unable to align pitch .... The stick is about 8 years old Suggest a outworn potentiometer, possible to replace with DIY HALL sensor assembly (if you have skill and patience do do this).

CZbloodweiser Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) Nice summer time came out with new awesome update... When will be the stick available? There is a big opportunity on the market, make "good middle" between [Edited] stics and very expensive ones with many functions and buttons. Edited October 28, 2015 by Bearcat Profanity
PeterZvan Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 What is the max stick deflection angle? Does anybody know that. As much as I liked the Mamba, I am not using it atm due to to small max stick deflection angle. It is much less than that of the Fighterstick or the Warthog / T16000 and is for me just not enough. I hope that the new stick has a bigger deflection angle.
JGr2/J5_W0LF- Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 When this stick comes out with the metal handle. I'm buying it and the separate throttle. I'll be putting my Warthog up for sale.
Sokol1 Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 What is the max stick deflection angle? For Gladiator is not know, but for the the new CAM gimbal that will be used in Black Mamba Mk.III, Gunfighter, Gladiator PRO is + - 20 degrees.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 For Gladiator is not know, but for the the new CAM gimbal that will be used in Black Mamba Mk.III, Gunfighter, Gladiator PRO is + - 20 degrees. That's very unfortunate, I really hoped it could reach up to the X52's 30° deflection angles But thanks for the info. Do you also know about the dimensions of the Gladiator sick?
JG27_Chivas Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 The new Cam gimbal certainly looks interesting. So interesting infact, I ordered the new Mamba. Nothing new there, I've bought most highend joystick/throttle available, and none of the gimbals were much good. I'm quite happy its nothing like the X52 I threw into the garbage, worst stick I've ever owned.
Sokol1 Posted November 14, 2015 Author Posted November 14, 2015 That's very unfortunate, I really hoped it could reach up to the X52's 30° deflection angles But thanks for the info. Do you also know about the dimensions of the Gladiator sick? This new gimbal is for use in desktop and extended stick, just changing CAM and springs. If has much deflection, when installed the extension became conflict with legs. No, Gladiator stick dimensions are not known.
PeterZvan Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Sokol - can you confirm that the 20 degrees are about 1 to 2 degrees more than the Mamba Mk.I or Mk.II gimbal? I measured it and calculated it to around 18,5 degrees. I got about 25 degrees for the fighterstick and 22degrees for the T16000. I would like to be in the region of the T16000 though and am now thinking if it makes sense to replace the gimbal in my Mamba or not. BTW: I dont like the extension - of course you get the longer movement, however I got used to wrist deflection (angle) as my measure so would like to retain that. And I dont like long sticks anyway.
Sokol1 Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) This 20 degrees is informed for the new Mk.III (& Gunfigthter) CAM gimbal. For MK.I and II I don't see this information. Post this question for UIV there: http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewforum.php?f=28 See this drawing of Mamba Mk.II with extension: http://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_11_2014/post-979-0-12119400-1416370086.png With + - 20 degrees the base of the grip will move around 20 cm, more degrees imply in a "gynecolocial" position of "vir'pilot" legs. Sokol1 Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Gladiator "Bourgeois" version. The numbers 10 and 30 in CAM defines if make "soft" or "hard" center position. 1
[Vietnam]Hoang_Anh Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Hope it will come out soon. I've just broken my Extreme 3d pro, and the Defender Cobra is always out of stock everytime I check online store. If it takes too long, I will go for a T.Flight or CH Products
Sokol1 Posted January 8, 2016 Author Posted January 8, 2016 Be patient, the Gladiator (basic) are near. This joystick will give you "more bang for you buck" that another "entry level" joystick in the market. 1
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Still worried about the 20° deflection though, that's going to be a real setback from the X52 Pro. I'm curious to see the pricing range of both Gladiators (without throttle) and how well the new gimbal system trades off.
Sokol1 Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Be patient, the Gladiator (basic) are near. UIV (VKB) post yesterday in Russian forum: "Now (we ) do another "pilot run" of (Gladiator) production. Release about 50 sticks. For the tests. A certain amount of them want to send to the developers in Russia (of) BoS, DCS, War Thunder. The main parties are planning to launch in March. Previously we don't have time, the Chinese New Year will (be) soon. ((" 1
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) This was posted back in Feb 29th I got samples.Mugambi pleased))) Prepare for the launch of production of the first batch. And this today on Stratojet Forum: All parts for Mamba is ready. Gimbal, packages, all structure is ready, except grips. We are eagerly waiting for grips from factory. But factory can't produce grip only, grips need to be produced together with Gladiator joysticks. Production for joysticks need at least four weeks. We've done what we can to make it faster. But since it's new joystick, there are many things need to double check. We didn't know it took so long time for final confirmation. And we promise to make shipment asap once grips arrives. Still no info on when and where it's going to be availabel. Edited March 8, 2016 by Stab/JG26_5tuka 1
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 "Sokol uses 'special Gladiator tease' attack on a wild croud" "His attack is very effective!" Seriously though, can't wait for the full Stratojet announcement. (hoepfully they'll announce European retailers)
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Yeah, Id like to replace my Cobra with that Gladiator. Waiting for it though takes almost eternity
Sokol1 Posted March 14, 2016 Author Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) how to take a screen shot Edited March 14, 2016 by Sokol1
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) Looking good, although the stick looks a good bit shorter than the X52. Hopefully it will not be less accurate. It's kind of sad reading threw the russian thread btw. No wonder we see mostly burning german planes ingame on wallpapers and concept arts (incase you're unaware, some russian posters complain about the Bf-109 being included with the box art rather than winning russian aircraft) Edited March 14, 2016 by Stab/JG26_5tuka
Sokol1 Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) Funny because probable the majority of "virpilovs" - Russians included, prefer fly in Messerschmitt or Focke Wulf. Edited March 15, 2016 by Sokol1
xvii-Dietrich Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 It looks really good. I've tried reading through the various posts and the VKB website, but I remain confused as to when it will be coming out or how you can order one.
KoN_ Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 Can any one tell me the deflection angles on the TM Warthogs . I am def up for the Gladiator .
Sokol1 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 (edited) Based on pictures there is ~22º. From DCS forum: "Warthog... deflection angle is higher than the g940, but less than the X52, and much less than the CH Fighterstick." Fighterstick is somewhat between 25 - 30º, the gimbal move more than pot' electrical angle - compensated in drivers. Edited March 19, 2016 by Sokol1
Sokol1 Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 (edited) Is there yet anything new on the Gunfighter Stick? Based on UIV post in IL-2 Russian forum: Gladiator production are full running in ~45 days. Some more weeks is need for start sending (for online pre-orders). - Latter production of Gladiator PRO start, that is the previous model with metal gimbal (Gladiator basic use plastic Gimbal, probable the same ''pincer" model of [Defender] Cobra M-5 - VKB project - looks they are forbidden in show details of this gimbal, so will be need await a reviewer with screw driver to know). - Latter came the Gunfighter, so is realistic expect this model for end Q3/Q4 2016. The "PLUS" version - that "HOTAS" monoblock seems undefined - IMO this not a good move, is not something too desired by the market... Maybe for FSX players. Instead this "HOTAS console" a stand alone throttle, specially if optimized for prop planes, (WWII, FSX, X-Plane...) is something that don't have similar in the market. A stick optimized for this new "space sim" genre is other good bet. Anyway all this depends on Gladiator success - a difficult task because besides by a product for a so called "dying" market niche will be sold basically online, the announced start price is twice the direct concurrent, the T.16000M... xvii-Dietrich Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Gladiator production are full running in ~45 days. Some more weeks is need for start sending (for online pre-orders). Excellent. But how can I put in a pre-order?
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 (edited) I'd really preferr to wait for the Gladiator Pro (more options, better feeling, less wear), but without any information on pricing point (my guess is around 150$ considering the basic Galdiator is settled at 90$) nor European suppliers & shipment it's hard to wait knowing the previous batch of Gladiators might already be sold out at that point. Also, how much later will the Gladiator Pro go into production? They sayed sth around a few months after the basic Gladiator in previous announcements but maybe thats no longer the case. Jason_Williams Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Guys, I suggest anyone interested in VKB products read our Press Releases. I also post them in this forum. See above. We put them out regularly and they give you a great sense of our progress. You can also ask questions in the forum. Easier to answer there. http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewforum.php?f=26 Jason
