Veteran66 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 yes: you fly down to 180° the wind come from 261° so the Wind- Airplane angle is 081° right side
Sokol1 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) OK. Let's do a flight plan with these parameters. Plane heading: 130º Wind coming from: 282º Plane speed: 340 KM/H (IAS) Flight altitude: 3.500m First is need know the TAS (True Air Speed). IAS: 340 KM/H Altitude: 3.500m OAS (Outside Air Temperature): -30º (Look at the thermometer on He 111 cockpit ceiling) On DR-2 set IAS against OAT (340 > -30º) and read TAS under Altitude - (3.5 > 385) Now set the Wind Angle Correction over TAS (80 > 385) Move the cursor for Wind Speed (KM/H) and read the Course Correction (Drift Angle) on outside scale (47 > 7): free photo hosting "9 proof" with modern "gadget": http://www.luizmonteiro.com/wind.aspx So to keep the True Course of 180º, follow the HDG 187º . Disclaimer: Do not blame me if you get lost. Edited March 16, 2019 by Sokol1
