...that is the question.

What say ye? Do we get a DD/update today?

BoS roadmap for near future must be ready already, why not to show it to us?

At least a word would be nice after such long absence. A patch would be better:)

Agreed. A comprehensive roadmap would be even better than an update tbh.

huh? What Map? Something in the works? Screens? Awesome!

I think I might have something pretty good for the DD today. Speaking of an update - not yet, gents, we here in 1C are working on relatively massive new things and it will take a few weeks to prepare completely for the public release.

However something small like an oxygen system might be deployed earlier, within a month or so.

Looking forward to the DD then!!! ;)

Stand by mode for FMB & Dserver... hope not for too long!

Cheers,

Welcome back Zak. Great to have you among us again. Fantastic news too. Mustn't let myself get too excited, but an oxygen system is among my top five most wanted features. Aw crap... Now I AM excited.

Thanks for the tease Zak. Now I've gotten my F5 key oiled up and ready.

Oh, and the news about modeling of the oxygen system sounds fantastic! It's those little things that make a sim great.

What effect would an oxygen system have? How could it be modeled?

IRL i know pilots with one could fly higher.

But does that matter? Do we have planes in BOS that dont actually have such a system installed?

EDIT: Oh and WB Zak!:)

If it's a system that has to be toggled on/off and regulated with altitude, one which has limited supply and can be damaged, then yes, it really does matter. In cases of both hyper- and hypo oxidation the result could be modelled pretty much as a blackout but with actual unconciousness and loss of control setting in.

Nothing else to add, at  least by now :)

Thanks, Finkeren.

I think we can expect a couple of new planes along with D server and apparently a oxygen system....

Thank you Zak! And there you have it, Gents! My analysis based on past performance is that the Team makes good on their promises. So try and be patient. Good things are coming. We are all mature adults, aren't we?

When it comes to new content for sims i feel like a little kid every time i hear of some:)

Lol before u black out because of lack of oxygen you kinda get drunk and have the iq of a baby, I wonder how that could be done in Bos. Maybe like delayed inputs and blurryness.

Lol might not need that I all to often have a beer and play Bos

Tbh I'd be satisfied if we just get a slow blackout and complete loss of control as the screen goes completely black.

That'd be close enough for me.

I would vote you up but I have met my quota for the day . Sorry Zak... :salute:

As long as u get get below 10k ft u should be ok. A black out should be the end result but it should not be instantaneous. There should be a physical warning period (which pilots are given lessons in noticing irl but were 1940s pilots given this I dint know).

I'm of the opinion that the It should get blurey and hard to control and slowly get darker over about 5 mins or just not have this at all

True, and that's what I described as a 'slow' transition to blackout.

There should be a physical warning period (which pilots are given lessons in noticing irl but were 1940s pilots given this I dint know).

They most certainly were taught correct use of the oxygen supply system and the symptoms of both hyper- and hypo. Try reading Saint Exupérys 'Pilote de Guerre'. He devotes several paragraphs to explaining the correct procedure for checking the oxygen supply, which was done as routine every 30 sec on high altitude flights.

I'm no expert on this, so I can't vouch for the exact symptoms (I personally think a slow blackout should be enough)

What I do know is, that at higher altitudes (above 25,000 feet) it's not a matter of minutes but seconds before you lose conciousness in the event of a complete oxygen failure.

I didnt even know you could do 10k in this game. I think 8k was the highest i have gone and the plane couldnt go higher.

The steep dive after was a lot of fun though.

Most of the planes in BoS have service ceilings below 10000m, but most can go above 9000 except the bombers. I have broken 10k in the 109 only, which is not surprising, since it should be able to go 2000m higher than that.
