3instein Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 @Veteran66, Your missions are really well done and shows real promise as to what can be achieved with the editor, I was wondering if you had any plans to do a lite version?, As just now when a lot of action happens it slows down to much for me to continue. If you don't have any plans for this is it something the user could do once the editor is released? Cheers, Mick.

When you make a Mission you must make a "balance" for red and blue airplanes, so you can not cut planes for a light version. For the ground, yes you can disable the smoke, shooting troops and vehicles, but this is the "character" from the Chir Front missions. The ground objects you can cut it when the editor is released, i have no time for this and i will not support the full and light Chir Front versions (for the CloD desastersoft campaign we must support full and light versions) You can try to makes your BoS system faster, set your settings to low and disable the red and blue ikons this is a fps eater! 2
Sokol1 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) Screens from 3rd mission. Tired of seeing those boring "flock" of 4 bomber "dancing Tango" in QM, a nice sight: Due the Pe-2 gunners bug (rarely shoot at fighters), nice for opportunity for target practice. Sokol1 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Pencon If you dont go for the "Front" nothing happen, because different, for example, from il-2'46 missions, when at mission start all planes friendly/enemy are in he mission, this missions depends on you (player) fly through certain map areas to trigger the "action": the enemy groups (similar to the Unlock Campaign). If you go for the wrong direction, you can fly until last the fuel and will not see anything. Look on map: You take off heading for East, so you can fly in HDG 71 until see the Chir River and then continues over him, or fly straight for East (HDG 90) until reach one river that flows South-North, and then turn to North, to reach the "Front". When you enter in the "Front" you will receive a radio call - in German voice - and see a white message on left side of screen - outside of the box for game radio. This message inform the map quadrant where the enemy are signed, so go there. Eventually other message can be show with updated enemy position, in another quadrant. Is important that you follow these instructions to locate the enemy planes. When engage avoid head on or AI will flame your engine at the first pass. To fly this missions you need know: - Read the compass (on instrument panel, or in "HUD" analog or digital) - Understand the map quadrants - Locate reference points on ground (cities shape, river bends, forest areas) in full screen map (O) - the GPS screen micro/mini map is useless for this kind of navigation. And to fly back to home, use the reciprocal of initial heading (71 or 90). 2
Veteran66 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 thx Sokol for explain I must start a new Chir Front Topic, you find it here: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/13912-chir-front-missions/
pencon Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) Thanks Sokol , is there a way to set the compass or is it always set right ? I don't know how to use it . I think on CLOD they had you reset it . Never could figure that out . Edited January 6, 2015 by 6969pencon
PA-Sniv Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) If you speak about the orange marker, it does not work as this mini-campaign has no waypoint. Cheers, Edited January 6, 2015 by PA-Sniv
Sokol1 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 (edited) Thanks Sokol, is there a way to set the compass or is it always set right? No, the waypoint indicator - the orange arrow - in overlay compass with "Instrument Panel"(I) ON is automated, depends on map waypoints. If waypoint are not available the indicator remains fixed in North in home base. In CloD some compass has the manual adjustable "Course Setter" modeled, that can be used as (next) waypoint indicator (in Spit/Hurri/Blein, Me 110, He 111, Ju-88...). Take a look in this map tool: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/13908-map-stalingrad-web-browser/?do=findComment&comment=219732 And use this to plan you route (heading angles, distances... ). Ilse21nemesis23taurus Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Hello! My name is Marco. I am new here. I don`t know, if it is better to write in english or german. I try it in english. I got a problem an hope to get help! Maybe this question is not new! Let`s go: I have download "Chir Front". Everything fine. Missions are running, but...exept of the airplanes everything is blue and white and yellow... the landscape...everything...no other colors! There`s something wrong! Please help me! I am not the computer-genius. Can somebody help me easily? Thank you very much! Best wishes! Marco
Sokol1 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) Since this mission pack is "old" - at time are only the Winter map - is need adjust the "Atmosphere options..." for the actual game version. Open the mission .msnbin file in ME (...\IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad\bin\editor), set "Atmosphere options..." - the field are blank - and save. Edited December 18, 2015 by Sokol1
Ilse21nemesis23taurus Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Thank you very much. Sorry, I am really no genius! I understand everything, but unfortunatly I don`t menage it to open the mission. Everytime I try to import the mission ("File > Open" or "File > Import from file") in the editor, there are no .msnbin files in the folder anymore. When I open the folder regular all files are there. What I do wrong?
Sokol1 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) The ME (Mission Editor) look for "My mission".mis, but for improve loading time this mission pack is saved in "My mission".msnbin not in .mis So copy the name from mission - "My mission".msnbin (in mission folder data\mission\Veteran66) and past in ME. Or type the first letter of mission name, e.g. Chir - so all files types is show, select .msnbin Edited December 18, 2015 by Sokol1
Ilse21nemesis23taurus Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Yeah! I finaly made it! Thank you very much!
