Discussion: Nickname syncronization and Campaign stats

Dear pilots,

 

Today we've completed a full scale data base update. Thanks to that fact all in-game and forum nicknames has been synchronized. Finally you can be yourself both on the forum and in multiplayer battles.

Also, the page with Campaign statistics have been launched. Although it's not the final version of the system, and multiplayer stats page is still WIP, however it already grants you access to your personal Campaign progress data, and it can always be accessed from your internet browser.

Note that your campaign stats are public by default.. and everyone can check your stats by your forum name. You can make them private in your Account Settings.

Just was interested, so I looked up my name.  I'm not there?  I have completed the whole campaign.

I had changed my Steam name to resemble a callsign/nickname only to have this update erase that effort. I didn't ask for the "same name" update. If anything, I would have opted to make my Forum name agree with my Steam nickname, not the reverse.

How do I change the "new" nickname back to what I want?

Assuming the ingame name is generated by your forum name, just go to >my settings>account and change your forum name.

Tried that. For whatever reason, my "user name" which is my Forum name cannot be changed. After saving new name, the name reverted back to current Forum name.

What do we need a campaign statistics website for? Serious question, don't we have one in our profile page in the game itself?

Vultures Row has had the tag _VR_ for 12 years.  I have been using _VR_Stick for 9 years.  When I bought BOS its allowed my full tag of _VR_Stick in the game but not in the forums.  The forums would not and still does not accept the beginning underscore.  The in game tags were changed to the forum names making my in-game name incorrect.

 

This does not only affect VR but other squads that use an underscore as the first character.

Why the server changed my profile? Today when updated my il2, my profile changed =BLW= Phoenix to =BLW = maurotrancoso. I can not change again as it already has someone by the name of Phoenix. I bought the game a long time and now I want my profile again. Can anyone help me?

It would appear that regarding the name changes, the devs have opted for an solution that doesn't satisfy those of us that want the ability to choose and edit our own names nor those who've just had a name that they WERE happy with changed by force. Nice going guys.

I should point out that I've actually got what I wanted because I needed my online name to be Lensman. It was fortuitous luck but it's doesn't change the truth of my previous comment.

For those of you that keep referring to changing the username in "accounts", please understand that is not possible. If you think that can be done, try it and post back here with your result.

 

Also, I submitted a ticket to support saying in effect that I want to change my in-game name back to what it was before the "sync". The name was Jarhead.

I got an e-mail back from Support that simply directed me back to the Post that announced the "sync" change.

You know, it's like talking to a board.

You may not want to do this but if you change your forum name it  will change your in-game name.

Nice, i always wanted a WoT wannabe forum where your stats decides if your opinion is worth anything or not.

 

Use different names for a reason, years of IL2 gaming experience. Thx for "fixing" a problem for a few by creating a problem for a multitude.

There is no such thing as a "Nickname" in Accounts. Only name = "Username".

You can attempt to change it but the change will not take.

I've submitted two tickets.

Edit: Got it to take (3rd attempt). Apparently my former name (Jarhead) was taken while I was fooling around trying to recover it.
