Trooper117 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 The solution to all the Developers problems is surprisingly easy to overcome. I suddenly realised today that the main problem is ourselves, and that we are all suffering from SAD... 'Seasonal Affective Disorder' I know this, as when I attempt to play the game I suddenly feel irritable and down... Flying in that awful winter setting with the endless snow is so depressing. Yet when I play on a summer map with my old IL2 I feel happy and carefree... Amazing Then I realised I must have SAD, and so I looked up the symptoms; feelings of despair feelings of guilt and worthlessness indecisiveness tearfulness feeling stressed or anxious feeling irritable And yes, I only get these symptoms when I play BoS in these awful dreary and snowy wastes! So fellow pilots, the Dev's course of action is clear... Release a 'summer map' and all our worries will disappear as we enjoy flying in a carefree and joyous manner as we prosecute the war! No more worries about 'unlocks' and 'grinding the XP' as we merrily obliterate each other in the summer skies... we will forget our grumblings and just enjoy natures summer colours... peace at last! 8
BlitzPig_Bill_Kelso Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Or buy a SAD lamp and shine it on you when you fly!

SOLIDKREATE Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I don't feel sad when see plane burning and hurling toward the earth.
ShamrockOneFive Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Do you not live somewhere with real winter? It looks like Battle of Stalingrad's snowy fields outside my window right now

BlackDevil Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 When I was a kid, we had lots of snow and a frozen lake in winter. So I enjoy the winter landscape, as it reminds me of the good old times
Anw.StG2_Tyke Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Yeah... for sure... and I get cancer while playing BoS because I get the same symptomes like brain cancer.... but because of the giant pile of bugs and/or wrong modeling in the game.... 1
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I don't feel sad when see plane burning and hurling toward the earth. The flames functions as a substitute for the sun, releasing endorphins and make you want to eat and breed and all that. 1
Yakdriver Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 only if you show me the pper side of that plane... i see a different exhaust system like on the old LaaGG-3 Series 4. but the Series 4 had retractable tail wheel.so is the gun setup the same? 1x20mm 1x12.7? or is it the 5 Gun version... 1x20 2x12.7 2x7.7?
J2_Trupobaw Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Not sure how serious Troopers post is but yes, I've been seriously noticing some of things he writes of . I'd add the grinding nature of campaign, with repetitive missions and hopeless sense that your actions have no wider meaning except getting unlocks - a perfect match to the winter Stalingrad scenario, which had as little romantism as you can get in air war theatre. It sure it immersive, though, in flying with gritted teeth in joyless war sense .To much realism?
Uufflakke Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 only if you show me the pper side of that plane...
kiershar Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Possessed lagg with no pilot, looks like the priests did not bless it enough!
senseispcc Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Do not dispair give them a push in the right direction.

I see the liqueur cabinet was left unlocked...again This helps? BoM screen shot?
Trooper117 Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 ''I see the liqueur cabinet was left unlocked...again'' Don't know about that, never touch that stuff... However, liquor is another matter.
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 BoM screen shot? Spot on! I searched for "LaGG-3 sunny summer", and there she was. It's strictly speaking autumn, but it looked so nice and sunny, I thought it might help Trooper's mood.
Yakdriver Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) Damn.DAMN.I want that for BoS. She is my favorite LaGG Dumptruck.IIRC she could carry 8 rockets too instead of 6.The one and only TRUE Dumptruck. Edited November 23, 2014 by Hawker_Typhoon

Taxman Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Let me give it a try  2 weeks? Or this coming week? We shall know by the 25th or 26th of this week. right
avlSteve Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) Yes, palm trees, green mountains, waterfalls, bluegreen lagoons... this would at least in part sooth the beast within. White sucks on a computer, which is what's wrong with the current BOS maps. I recon when they put out the summer and fall maps, they'll be the preferred choice overall. I can't get my CCC color profiles to save, so I have a hard time with a consistent video setup for all times of day in BOS. Sometimes it's great, and other times I guess I left my sunglasses back at the base. And severe haze every day? What, is the pollen count up for the holidays? One out of ten should be clear, no? pencon Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 They need to model some global warming in , for some nice snowless maps along with a few dying polar bears because without snow that's what they do .( funny how they can live at the local zoo without snow though )
