I did a fresh install of BoS for the first time shortly after release, and since then I've gone through the same procedure for each update that was released:

- Start the launcher, download of update begins automatically

- download gets stuck at 1/3 progress bar, never moves further

- I try to close the launcher but it gets stuck, saying "waiting for process to finish" or something like that

- After waiting a while I go to the task manager and kill the launcher.exe process

- Restart the launcher and it immediately begins installing the update.

- Install finishes and I can launch the game and confirm that it is now at the updated version (i.e. 1.005 after I did it today)

BoS is installed on Windows 7 64-bit

Phenom II X4 955 processor with 8 GB RAM

High speed cable internet connection

BTW, I do not have the steam version, I downloaded directly from the BoS website

Similar trouble here. Completely un- and re-installed 2 times now.

Windows 8.1. But never made it to the end of update. Unable to play :(

End of update log looks like this:

Can both of you attach full copies of data/update.log and updates/last_update.log to this thread after failed update?

I tryed to attach those files since I have the exact same problem but the forum says I dont have permission to attach that file.

I have the same problem:

"You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file"

I have reinstalled the whole game and it seems to have fixed everything. I removed all the files before reinstalling.

To attach file you need to compress it to zip, it's forum restriction.

OK, here are my update logs.  Please have a look and let me know if you can suggest a solution.

BlueHeron, if it occurs again, then post log here once more. It is not clear yet, what was the reason.

pocketpete, here is quick fix, it should help:

1. download attached rofuplib.zip

2. unpack it, there is only one file there - rofuplib.dll

3. copy it to C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game, overwrite existing file.

4. start launcher and if it fails again, attach new log.

Also it is better to keep game outside of Program Files folder.

The problem is that folders in Program Files can keep different versions of files for different users (e.g. Administrators and Users), leading to inconsistency which may cause checksums miscalculations and so on.
