Please, Can I Turn Off Interface Sound - Arc Welder

Recommended Posts

Posted

I appreciate the time and effort going into this sound track, but it's not to my liking. I'd rather have silence, or a a subtle music track.

I checked off the interface box in sound setting but to no avail.

Thank you.

I agree this opinion. This welding sound is pretty good recorded, but I don't like that...

Feels like we need an epilepsy filter for the menus.

LOLZ how about "back to the roots"

I think, Overkill can make awesome sounds for IL-2 BoS.

I do not like it either but it is not music it is a man walking in the snow with the battle, artillery fire, in the background and a sort of pounding sound due to the Wind or for dramatic effect. And indeed it is impossible or I have not found in the sound menu the way to remove it?! It is going to drive me crazy!

I think the flight model of the La-5 has been changed! :salute:

Maybe this for the axis pilot.

We really need the option to switch this off, it is really annoying, my preferance is for no background noise in any game I play.

I find the dead silence of earlier versons kind of awkward.  It hardly creates any sense of anticipation.  The welding noise is like a trip to the dentist.

Just as a quick test I spent 20 minutes in a free sound editor (sorry about the crackle) and had a bit of a go.  I'm no sound engineer, but you get the idea.

Nice quick test Feathered.

I get the idea, but personally i think it's to overwhelming.

The sounds (or music) in the menu's should be more "background".

yea, kind of standing on a passing parade or concert. does not match with the wild windy steppe.
but the crackle i liked... shoddy sound quality back then. :D
and the Katyushas at the end are eeeevilllll

male version.
for the female voices, all i mentally see is this:
28923536-girls-in-white-dresses-dancing-

and that is not very VVS-like! :D

Posted

Really? You can't see these girls giving that performace?

Huh? You mean there is a musical sound track and sound effects on the opening screen? I don't have them. How do I turn them on?

noooo. only a welder. no music.
that's what we are saying all the time... give us some proper VVS/OKL beats!

No way, no thanks. I don't want communist music to be an official part of the game.

If you read the lyrics, you'll see there's absolutely not a shred of political content in that song. It's as generically patriotic as it gets.

If it had a bit more violent imagery, it would be more or less indistinguishable from the U.S. Air Force Song.

Long are the days where games allowed for custom playlists ;)

Fallout Tactics for example... Options...Music.... select default or select folder

Yeah, I don't hear anything there either.  I have been thinking that it is strange that the game has no sound at all until the mission starts.

So i should consider it as luck that i dont hear anything in the menu at all? No music, no clicks, nothing.

I usually need this one after my LW missions.

"March of Stalin's Air Force" and the line of "our world's first proletarian fleet" tells me enough about the song to dislike it.

Make sound menu optional, and allow players use his preffered music (as in old il-2).

Lale Anderson should be comming in over a crackling radio singing Lili Marlene if a German plane is shown in the hanger interrupted occasionally by the news from the front or something, and Katusha should play if its Russian

Those would be the obvious and quite unimaginative choices, but they are decidedly apolitical soldiers songs both, so perhaps those would be the best choices.

Besides both are awesome tunes in their own right. I especially love the up-tempo energetic versions of Katyusha.

The somber opening music in CLOD gave a sense of dreadfulness and importance.  That wouldn't be out of place in Stalingrad either.  The Adagio of Bruckner's Seventh was reportedly used in Germany to announce the end of the 6th Armee and their loss on the battlefield:

Maybe just add the option to get rid of the welder altogether. I hate the sound effect, but can't say i enjoy the flickering either.

God no. That clod music was something from daytime television. Sounded like it was played on a keyboard with one finger.

I agree , an option to turn off hangar noise would be nice. I don't like welding sound myself.

Anything from the 'Downfall' soundtrack would fit.

I remember the devs saying they do not have the money to commission or licence a music track. I get that. That's why a Music Folder is the best solution. You can have anything or nothing ing there and everyone is perfectly contented.

It's pretty awful. It sounds like an Ann Summers party in an igloo.
