SYN_Vorlander Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Gents, I need help pls. I'm in the market for a VKB Fat King Cobra MkII joystick http://flightsimcontrols.com/store/joysticks/fat-king-cobra-mkii/ But to find a reliable website to order the product outside the Motherland seems to be impossible. Does someone have an idea or opportunity to assist me in ordering 2 x Fat King Cobra MkII joystick. I would gladly pay for the services. Thanking you Morris South Africa :S!:
AA_Engadin Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 At the bottom of the page there are two suspicious comments: "Product not in stock" & "This product has sold out". It's a hard way to go but it's the only one: wait until availability shows back.
JGzbV_Manni Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 i would wait on their new stick called mamba. Should be in stock in few weeks as far as i read.
SYN_Vorlander Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 Thanx Manni, Will it be a better stick than the Fat king Cobra? Hi Engadin, Well, I have mailed them with no answer. Thats why I posted on the forum for assistance.
Sokol1 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 (edited) Vorlander, Seems that Mamba come with a new base (King Cobra use Cobra M5 base): http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=169099&d=1374785569 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=169095&d=1374784811 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=169091&d=1374784803 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=169445&d=1376121874 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=169446&d=1376121875 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=169447&d=1376121876 And some optional http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=169098&d=1374785650 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=169100&d=1374785680 Another project of WKB: http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=169104&d=1374834391 I try several times buy one Njoy32 of flightsimcontrols, but no response for emails... BTW - Is not possible buy things in Russian using PayPal (o something similar), like we do in China/Hong Kong? I think in buy one Bauer gimbal, but at moment the only way I find to send money to Russian is Wester Union that (here) have high cost... Sokol1 Edited September 8, 2013 by Sokol1
Sokol1 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Seems that Mamba come with a new base (King Cobra use Cobra M5 base): Its correct say: King Cobra use Cobra M5 base - with new gimbal with ball-bearings. Sokol1
JGzbV_Manni Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 i read that you can attach different handles to the base. the base will be shipped with the su27 handle you see above and will be able to hold the warthog and x52 handle with some adapter they release also. right now iam waiting for my www.hotas.su stick. should arrive in few weeks. after that i order the mamba as soon as its available. 1
SYN_Vorlander Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 Wow that Mamba looks great. I want one, I need one. Lol Thanx Sokol1 I will keep trying.
germanicusgermanicus1936 Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I have heard from Eduard at VKB FSC EUROPE and he says information will soon be available about the Black Mamba, VKB FAT COBRA, AND DEFENDER COBRA M5 JS controllers, PAY PAL payment, and shipping. I am very interested in their approach to the engineering and manufacture of joysticks. I told them we need more choices here after reading posts comparing all the available controllers on Amazon, Google, sim fan boards etc. There is a Russian site showing a clamp on metal frame to mount joystick handle and throttle. The name of it may be in Russian and not translated as I find none in English. Google www.hotas.su/ ..it will say do you mean ru not su?? su is correct. This device looks very interesting and I am curious to see what you "real" sim pilots think. I am 76, a history buff, and was told some time ago on CoD to just fly the "targets" we call "Bombers"!! I use the X52 PRO and, on another thread in CoD Controllers, asked about axis settings which I have never compared to anyones. I tend to wallow and over correct..settings or joystick?? If so, then I want to know more about the Russian products along with your opinions.
PeterZvan Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 hey Manni - how will you order the Mamba? Is there an official way to do it out of europe or something simmilar? I am deffinitly very interested in either the Mamba or the King Cobra (looking at the internals I reckon the King Cobra has a better gimbal system, although I could be wrong)
JGzbV_Manni Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) i have my private network of helpful russians nevertheless i think they will sell their stick on http://flightsimcontrols.com/ for the european market - as soon as they are in stock. btw (page seems down - worked yesterday) Edited September 10, 2013 by JGzbV_Manni
PeterZvan Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Lucky you. For the web page - I have tried ordering pedals over the page some time ago, but got absolutly no responce so I reckoned it is not usefull. Hopefully I am mistaken.
Zmaj76 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 (edited) Mamba is awesome... @Zvan - valjda će se naći neko ko ide u Moskvu poslovno Edited September 13, 2013 by Tvrdi
ST_Pirato Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 Wow both of those sticks are looking very good, especially the Mamba is interesting for me. Will keep an eye on them ,hopefully there will be more infos on the European website soon. Thanks for bringing it up in this Thread, otherwise I propably would have never heard about it.
SYN_Vorlander Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 I received word from VKB Europe yesterday that the mamba should be in stock within the next 2 weeks.
SYN_Lt_Dan Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 What the one with the stick extension? would be lovely for the Ka50 in dcs
SR603-McMurdo Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 This stick looks very nice indeed glad I wonderd in here to see it .
SYN_Vorlander Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 What the one with the stick extension? would be lovely for the Ka50 in dcs yes Lt. Dan
jocko417 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Very nice. Interchangeable grips - looks like someone finally did what Thrustmaster always intended but never quite got around to. I love my WH (and still have my Cougar) but this looks very interesting. I'll be watching for reviews, especially concerning the 'feel' of the gimbal system. The extension is a good idea as well, some users have been making them for the WH already but having one made by the joystick company avoids all the futzing with extension cables. Any idea of the price?
O_catarM Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Yes, we ship to Australia. I am currently awaiting for information about shipping cost. I think that it should be affordable. Rudder pedals is currently out of stock and they will be available in next production batch. If you are interested in joystick, I can tell that VKB Black Mumba will be available for order this week in three versions (Light, Pro and Fat) Best regards, Eduard VKB FSC Europe
Sokol1 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) A special version: http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=170210&d=1378752707 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=170212&d=1378752746 Is not for Bf.109/Fw.190 is for La-7, Yak-9 (that use copy of KG-13). BTW - The Flightsimulation site received update recently. Perhaps now his email service work... Sokol1 Edited September 18, 2013 by Sokol1
FTC_Karaya Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Is it just me or is there absolutely no mention of the Mamba joystick on the manufacturer's homepage!?
ST_Pirato Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 There is no info about it yet on the Site.
Sokol1 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 You mean http://www.vkb-pro.ru/ ? The Mamba first batch is in finalization process, all info are in this topic: http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=72100&page=72 This kind of joystick dont have serial production (e.g. like Saitek), but is done in small batches. Sokol1
ST_Pirato Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) I think JG4_Karaya means the European site. By the way, Thanks Sokol1 for providing all these infos. Edited September 18, 2013 by ST_Pirato
Zmaj76 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) defender M5 and its upgrades looks nice.....but thers one concern....the "red fire button" on the far left sims like not easy to reach when the hand is on the stick....also, the grip seams a bit too thin for averge hand.... do we have any defender owners here? Edited September 22, 2013 by Tvrdi
Zmaj76 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) btw what would be the price for Mamba and what would be the difference between light, pro and fat versions? Edited September 22, 2013 by Tvrdi
Sokol1 Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) I guess: Light - Mamba base with controller Njoy32 Light. Pro - Mamba base with controller Njoy32 PRO Fat - Mamba base with controller Njoy32 PRO and all these base buttons and knobs (looks like a porcupine). This Njoy32 PRO allow: - Storage configuration and settings in the controller (non volatil memory?) - Built-in keyboard mapper (including system and multimedia keys) - Mouse emulation - Ability to write macros - Emulation axes using the buttons and encoders - Emulation buttons using axes - Adjustable sensitivity axes - Customizable dead spots and smoothing factors response for axes - Adjustable dynamic response filtering - Trimming axles - Use up to three appointments for each button using modifier keys, user-definable. Top button/hat placement is not too different from this, which is very practical: http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~phase2/game/dev_pc/photo/f15_01.jpg The "skinny" grip is due the target of Cobra M5 (the low cost version sold by Defender wherein the Cobra/Mamba MOD are based) are the "entry-level" teenage market. Perhaps some racket overgrip help. BTW - Notice that Mamba don't come with "twist rudder". Sokol1 Edited September 22, 2013 by Sokol1
Zmaj76 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Thank you very much Sokol...Will see how much will Mamba Light cost and will decide.....
Zmaj76 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 (edited) @Sokol - on reaching the red "fire" button.... here and here is the position of thumb when flying and here is when the thumb is on the fire button....that doesnt look like natural and easy move...Did you try it? btw, according to this and this pic it seams that "skinny" grip isnt so skinny and it wouldnt make sense to tape a full metal MAmba with racket rubberized overgrip source: http://www.f1cd.ru/galleries/343/ Edited September 24, 2013 by Tvrdi
SYN_Vorlander Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 VKB black mamba is ready for order. Happy days
Zmaj76 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) 269 euros for fat and 206 for light Mamba + shipping 30 euros for my country....phew! littel fortune...I can only envy westeners now hahahaha Edited September 27, 2013 by Tvrdi
yaky109 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 (edited) Very keen to read a serious review for this stick from someone fussy about their kit who also has a Warthog. Mamba looks great to me. 9 ball bearings, swap out springs to adjust the resistance, lots of metal.. nice. The only thing I dont get is why they wanted to use lighter-weight aluminium in the base and I dont see hard mounting holes. Edited September 27, 2013 by racingslippers
yaky109 Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Could just remove the base and get some longer M4 (M6?) screws come to think of it. Looks possible to put them through right from the top.
germanicusgermanicus1936 Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I have saitek x52 pro. Is it possible to use my throttle? I would like a very precise stick. It works in 3 modes and there is no profiling set up as all the switches are programmed? I wrote Eduardo for more description.. Perhaps Sokol1 would know...
Sokol1 Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 (edited) Germanicus, I have saitek x52 pro. Is it possible to use my throttle? X-52 Throttle work without X-52 joystick (the opposite is not true), so you can use X-52 throttle with any josytick in modern games. (Old games (Red Baron?), dont recognize more than one joystick, il-2 Sturmovik:1946 limit to four.). Is common use X-52 throttle with MS FF2 USB forming a custom "HOTAS". So you can use your X-52 throttle and one joystick VKB Mamba, and other brand rudder pedal (the limit only depend on games). It works in 3 modes and there is no profiling set up as all the switches are programmed? This 3 modes - selectable by this slide switch bellow POV HAT, work this way: The joystick have 7 physical buttons (+POV HAT), but his controller allow 23 logical buttons. To let use this extra logical buttons are used modes, that allow set up to three different functions for the same button, this is done in game controls GUI. For example, in mode 1 this "shoulder" red button start/stop engines, in mode 2 open bombay doors, in mode 3 drop bombs... The joystick (Cobra or Mamba Light) dont come with profile software (like Saitek SST) but if need you can use third part key mapper software, like JoyToKey, XPader... The PRO version have a key mapper interface, but store profiles in joystick controller non volatile memory that don't are erased if unplug the joystick from computer. Some pictures of this (PRO) key mapper: http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=170584&d=1380067380 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=170585&d=1380067384 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=170586&d=1380067389 http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=170587&d=1380067391 So you don't need load joystick profile before start the game. BTW - They do strange "test" whit this joystick: http://www.sukhoi.ru/forum/attachment.php?s=36911f70d81b8089812d7d4f6950a188&attachmentid=170639&d=1380355448 Edited September 28, 2013 by Sokol1
