Game refusing to update?

After I downloaded the 81mb patch today, my launcher just says failed to update.
I already downloaded the launcher.zip and  replaced the files, and i tried deleting Radio but to no avail.
anyone else have this problem or have a fix? im running as administrator. It worked this morning before the update.

you must be patient, some times takes a minute or 2, due to server over load in Russian amazon servers.

I'm currently updating at the moment.....at 5kb's a second.

This is going to take an eternity....

 

I have a 12mg download capable internet connection that is running at the correct speed.

I also run it as an administrator.  I use Windows Security Essentials as AV.  

 

Any ideas or suggestions to speed this up?

has nothing to do with your cable internet, its your government throttling your packets, FBI, CIA, their looking at why are you down loading information from Moscow. just go away from your computer for 30 min when you come back it should be done.

Well...Mastiff, I hope you're teasing me.....

It's a hour later and I'm now downloading at 1kb a second....

I guess I'll just totally uninstall the game....and start from scratch?

I was just about to delete and re-install......then decided to give it one more try.

It finally worked with about a 1.5 meg download speed and 20 seconds later, it was done and game works.

 

Hope this helps someone.....don't give up...if you get a low download speed?  Just stop and start the update several

times or more...and it seems it will then work.

Cheers man at least I know it's not just me.I am D/L now at 0.69 Kb/s, I will start and stop a few times and hope that works, ta.

Yep that seems to have worked, started and stopped a couple of times and it is now D/L at 8 Mb/s, good advice

Hi i have been looking for help to update great battles, this forum is full of complaints going back years, just to add to that it is still happing now, sometimes it downloads sometimes it wont sometimes at 23kb per sec other times 4.8mb per sec if it gets to the extracting files part the red line goes all the way except the last little bit and says update failed.

Now YOU really should have sorted this by now you are taking money for defective software!!!!! this has been going on for years STOP MAKING PLANES, TERRAINS MISSIONS, AND NEW GAMES TIL YOU GET THE UPDATER SORTED!!!!!!

i have looked at all the ways around this problem that have been put forward and tried them they dont work , this was a great game and its so frustrating i have just bought another battle (kuban) and i cant play it every time i try it wants to download the update, to date i have tried 75 times in the last 2 weeks and about 20 times since i bought the new battle its just not on if i bought a car which was defective i could change/repair or replace or refund the total amount paid, if this applied to your customers it would cost you thousands PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get this sorted as a priority

I was installing the 27+ GB on a new computr and getting the failed to update msg in the launcher. I noticed MS windows was ready to update. So I had to do this a few times. I also connected a LAN  cable as I thought the wifi was less reliable. Eventually it worked and the game is installed

I too have encountered this failure to update. i was told by a friend who has successfully entered the game, to refer to the server limits of 72 hours per week. The problem is i have no idea when those 72 hours occur and can find no information in the forum, at least not yet.

 

It's very annoying, I've paid for the game but can't start and an official response looks to be almost non-existent. Perhaps a better client/service interace should be considered.

 

Any further suggestions will be gratefully received. I attach the screen shot but it's well know to many1

I have the same problem

And now when I try to restart the launcher the game tries to download the game again but nothing happens

Edit: Found the problem, my SSD harddisk was almost full

I now have additional problems although it has now updated. I still can't launch the game and I receive these 2 messages: I am not an IT expert so have no clue where to begin. Any help will be gratefully received.

Have you instal Directx 11?. When you make a full install of IL-2 the installer program want you to install d3dx also.Dont skip that
