In an effort to become better at navigation I put together a little chart that will give the approximate times to cross one 10Km  box grid on the Big Map. Maybe someone else could find it useful.

175 kph = 3 min 26 sec

200 kph = 3 min.

225 kph = 2 min 40 sec

250 kph = 2 min 24 sec

275 kph = 2 min 11 sec

300 kph = 2 min

325 kph = 1 min 51 sec

350 kph = 1 min 43 sec

375 kph = 1 min 36 sec

400 kph = 1 min 30 sec

425 kph = 1 min 25 sec

450 kph = 1 min 20 sec

475 kph = 1 min 16 sec

500 kph = 1 min 12 sec

525 kph = 1 min 9 sec

550 kph = 1 min 5 sec

The soviets originally used the NL-10M I believe. (I couldn't find the exact model but this is close: S531_Soviet_Aviation.jpg

Can't find the one the germans used at the moment. Have it filed away here somewhere... Hmmm

Just don't forget to factor in wind speed.

NL-10M  is post WWII(1986). At time are used the NL-7 (virtual version in flash):

Germans use Dreieckrechner disk. Heres a virtual (virtual version in flash) DR-2.

Both in full size here: http://clodtools.weebly.com/

Sample of DR-2 practical use in game:

E6B is not practical to use in game because is in imperial system, and so demands additional conversion for metric system used by Luftwaffe and VVS planes.

The Bombsite Table for il-2 1946 is for calculate TAS and the drop angle, both no need in BoS - are automatic calculated based on IAS and altitude inputs on bombsight.

Thanks Sokol1.

The virtual DreieckRechner is really cool.
