Just speculating, but this is September; the month of release(?). There is probably a closed beta test going on to produce a realease candidate so my guess is that the team is focusing on that rather than updating the community beta.

Nah seriously, i really hope some informations about the upcomming release (Like a Date, Campaign informations..)

And i think they'll add the new crash landing effect

Thanks Blacksix!! I know the team is missing a few good men on vacation, and everyone else is in grind mode for release. Keep up the great work, the sim is really getting its legs!!

Well, frankly. drift did muddy up the waters quite a bit there. It goes from a Sept release, which B6 responded yes to, to drift saying full release or beta today which doesn't really follow in the line of the topic since there is still a lot of September left.

 

"Is sept release still on target"

"Yes"

"Full release or beta product? I'm sure we would all love to have the beta today regardless of bugs" <-- doesn't really make sense to jump to today being full release or beta, and confuses the matter with non-native English speaking representatives trying to answer everyone.

But, why beta today? Why does it matter? We should be getting an update with something, its not like the title doesn't run. I can enjoy it without getting anything today. Sure, some things are left to be done, but I'm not worried - they will be wrapped up nice and tidy with a pretty string around it, maybe even a bow on top before this is announced "released."

 

So we aren't missing anything, we aren't losing out on anything, we aren't left out in the cold - we will have a final product at release. Today isn't release, so just enjoy what you already have because it is very enjoyable and runs very well.

If it's to be released this month as Black6 suggests, it would be quite logical (to me) to give the Beta to a larger audience for two weeks testing.

But no biggie really for me if it doesn't happen.

Unless at the last second they decide to delete half the code, replacing it with a side scroller and 1 single 8bit plane, and go "haha, the Il-2 legacy lives on!" then disappear into the night like a reverse Batman crushing our hopes and stealing our money.

Oh boy, I meant: Is the full release slated for September release or just the beta? If the Full version is slated for september release then may we have the beta version today as we would happily live with the bugs and help report them. As you guys know already the beta was release to a few select testers so it does exist. I'm not opposed to them testing in limited numbers so please don't misunderstand when I state that I would love to see us get the beta today, I don't expect it nor consider it a requirement!   :)

 

edit: there seems to be some misunderstanding between the differences between alpha/beta/final. In my understanding Alpha is typically not feature complete while Beta is feature complete but still has bugs and balancing issues. Full release one would expect content/features/bugs to all be addressed. I'm sure there is a little more time required before all the bugs are sorted. I want to commend the dev's for no using the early access excuse some other titles have (stomping land comes to mind) and being in my mind the 2nd best dev team in regards to keeping their customers informed. Star Citizen takes the cake as #1.
