SCG_PeeGee Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) I have a MS FFB joystick. If I make any adjustments in Settings Devices I get a regular pulsing/kick through the feed back, as if I'm running over the concrete joints in the runway, but all the time. I can only cure it with a reboot or unplugging and replugging of the joystick, any thoughts ? Despite this, this is turning out to be a great simulator :- except why do we have prop pitch as "High" and "Low" instead of "Coarse" and "Fine" and as it is in the real world of propellers and screws. also trim should be "Nose Up" and "Nose Down" BTW which way is "High" and "Low" pitch. snowsnipersnow_sniper Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I have same issue, in flight. with MS FFB 2. have to move each time adjustement of Force feedback to leave it. but it comes back. Has anyone having MS FFB solved this problem ?
Dakpilot Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Had this problem when plugged into USB3 port when changed to USB2 and re-boot all was fine again and has remained so for several months (fingers crossed) Cheers Dakpilot
VR-DriftaholiC Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Same thing happens. I think it's the game reinitialising the joystick after you made changes. Just a small bug really.
Mugwump Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 The kicking sensation happens to me intermittently as well. You can get around it without having to reboot the game, but it is annoying nonetheless. To solve the issue, do the following: 1) Pause the game 2) Hit ESC and go into the controls menu. 3) Select Devices and then look for the force feedback section. 4) Disable force feedback then adjust one of the sliders up or down by 10%. It doesn't matter which slider you chose. 5) Apply the new settings. 6) Go back to the game, quickly unpause then pause again. 7) Go back to the devices menu, re-enable force feedback and put your slider back to where it was. 8) Apply new settings. This should remove the kicking sensation. 1
snowsnipersnow_sniper Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 This tips Works. thank you, but it shoud be better a resolved bug before release as the MSFFB2 is a famous great stick i don't want to leave as many of us i think.
6high Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I have the same issue after this last patch, but it only shows in the IL2, not the 190 or 109, lots of bumping. ( Haven`t tried the other planes) Additionaly, i cannot seem to get my MSFFB2 "centered" anymore- i tried calibrating in Win, no luck. And strangely enough the effect is worst in the IL2 again...even if i trim her all the way nose heavy i still need to correct using stick force! Anyone else experiencing this? I checked with the X52 stick i have, and it works fine.. 6
J2_Trupobaw Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) The easiest way i've found to reset ffb and get rid of pulsing bug in RoF is to go to controls menu (where you bind keys to actions) and back to game - leaving controls menu resets ffb. Sometimes it resets only to bring pulsing again (as with other methods), but I rarely need more then 2-3 attempts. Not sure if it works in BoS, even throught pulsing bug is inherited from RoF there - I have not seen pulsing bug in BoS for long time. Guess I''m lucky.Seriously, since devs can't get rid of the bug since forever, we should ask them for "reset ffb" key we can bind in controls and hit in flight . Edited September 1, 2014 by Trupobaw
6high Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 stick force should move with trim Of course it should- that is why i posted. Before the last patch all was well..now i have to shelf my beloved MSFFB2, because it bucks like a stallion and asks me to constantly push it forward....
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 For me after last patch MSFF2 is working OK.

I am sure they improved something, as I had it regularly without changing my setup since. The reset Key would be great for everyone who still has the prob.
Dakpilot Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 It would be interesting to find the common link between the people still experiencing the "dreaded judder" It almost drove me mad until I plugged into a USB2 port direct to MB and never had it again for many months (fingers crossed) Still fine Cheers Dakpilot
snowsnipersnow_sniper Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I m on a usb2 but i still have it every updates and sometimes untill i move a bit the settings

=LD=Penshoon Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) I get the pulsing force as well, like every other flight I start. Alt-tabbing to desktop and back usually fixes it after a few tries and is faster than going into the options to change the settings. Sometimes when I tab back into the game the stick looses all dynamic forces and just becomes super stiff. I will try using a USB 2.0 port instead and see if it makes it better. Edit: I'm using a MSFFB2 gray trigger. Edited September 4, 2014 by =LD=Penshoon

6high Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Edit: I'm using a MSFFB2 gray trigger. I tried with both version, Gray and black, that didn`t make a difference..

Cheers Dakpilot I tried using one of the 2.0 ports on the I/O but none would power the sick. No green light, no connection notification in windows either. I tried one of the 2.0 ones on top of the case and it those worked put gave me the same symptoms as using a 3.0 port on the MB I/O. Thanks for the advice though, it was worth a try.
=LD=Penshoon Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) You're powering the stick with USB AND the power lead though, right? Just checking. Of course! The green light doesn't require the C7 type cable, it's just for powering the motors. It just didn't get any data from OS on those ports. Think it's a driver issue for me, the trackir is using the same port and it's working fine though. Anyway I can live with having to alt-tab a few times before flight. Minor annoyance really. =LD=Penshoon Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) OK. I never get a green light unless I attach the power lead. Mine is flashing green without the cord. Becomes solid green when I plug it in. Might be different versions. Edited September 5, 2014 by =LD=Penshoon

oneeyeddog Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I experienced this MS FFB2 rhythmic shudder yesterday for the first time. I shut down my PC and plugged into a different USB and it went away. Both the USB it was in initially(3.0) and the one I moved it to(2.0) were direct to MB. a little while later when taking off an IL2 i realized i had no Joystick control what-so -ever. Exited game and went to 'devices' where the FFB2 worked properly. On re entering BoS the joystick worked fine again. This is the first time that i've had any issues with the FFB2 in any sim.
cromagnon Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 hello, In ROF and BOS, force feedback from my FFB2 never worked. In the settings if I check the "enable" box my joystick becomes very soft. USB 2.0 or 3.0 If you have a solution, I'm interested. P.S. "google translate"
[DBS]El_Marta Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 While the other planes work OK with my MSFFB2, the trim settings of the elevators of the He 111 donot result in corresponding stick forces. Thus trimming the elevators in He 111 is not possible for me with FFB enabled. Does any MSFFB2 user here have working elevator trim with the He111 and FFB enabled?
VR-DriftaholiC Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I have the same issue with G940. I'm guessing it's a uncompleted feature.
