Type of improvement: Control / Gameplay
Explanation of proposals: Adding control of the fuel cock / fuel shut-off valve to make it possible to extinguish engine fires. By turning off the fuel supply to the engine there would be less combustible materials, and thus there should be a fairly good chance of extinguishing the fire. If the pilot also applies full throttle after shutting off the fuel the remaining fuel in the engine would be used up faster, and as such the chance to put out the fire should increase even more. It should be possible to shut off the fuel for a specific engine in airplanes with multiple engines.
Benefits: Gives some chance to put out engine fires, and gives the pilot control over it. Will reward good piloting skills while not being very complex.
