I know we all want new airframes, but from the list above, which would be your first choice? Some would be AI airframes (4-engine bombers), and others would be flyable. Also, if you prefer the battle/war/mission but prefer another new airframe, please let us know.

I understand the arguments against some of these choices - no maps exist of Finland, for example - but aside from that, this is about finding out what you're interested in.

What makes New Guinea preferable to the Philippines? I'm curious.

That's a bit harsh, unnecessary, and not the attitude we need here.

I'd like to see Malta, Gladiators, early Italian planes and LW planes we have. Carriers could be used to ferry RAF planes.

I understand that Pacific theater planes & maps are highly sought after, and I'd be interested in them, but I think more development in the European theater is more likely to happen (like the IAR 80/81). Great Battles may become a more detailed 1946, but I don't think we'll see that anytime soon. So within Europe, I was wondering what we'd still want to see.

Well, the air campaign in New Guinea lasted from 1942 to mid 1944, for one.  The Philippines would have to be broken up into two phases, early war where the Japanese crushed Allied air power quickly, and late war where the Japanese air assets in the region were swatted from the sky with equal ease as the Japanese had defeated the Allies in the early part of the war.  The Philippines would by necessity have to have Allied carrier forces involved, whereas New Guinea was mostly an Army show for both sides.  New Guinea would offer far longer lasting career opportunities as well.  Also the plane sets, I feel, are far more interesting in the New Guinea AO.  Plus the map would be a wonder to fly over.

F-6F & F-4u Corsair.

https://www.historynet.com/when-hellcats-took-the-fight-to-the-luftwaffe.htm

"On April 3rd 1944 Corsairs of no's 1834 and 1836 Sqn's. FAA operating from carriers of the RN's Home Fleet flew top cover for a combined Barracuda, Wildcat and Hellcat strike on the battleship Tirpitz which at that time was moored in Kaa Fjord, Norway. The attack was a complete suprise to the Germans and no Luftwaffe aircraft arrived at the scene in time to intercept.
The Corsairs were briefed to operate at 10,000 ft"

EDItX2: Royal Navy Hellcat I's (F6F-3) from 800 squadron were involved in escorting Barracuda attacks on the german battleship Tirpitz from April to August 1944 in Alta Fjord, Norway. One of these operations, on 8 May 1944, the Luftwaffe fighters flew up to protect the battleship. Some of the 800 squadron Hellcats from HMS Emperor went to attack the German aircraft and shot down 1 Fw-190 and two Bf-109G fighters. The Hellcats suffered one loss to the Luftwaffe and another to anti-aircraft fire. Sub Lt. B. Richie claimed the Focke-Wulf and went on to claim a total of 6 kills, becoming one of only a few Royal Navy Hellcat aces.

So skins for the FAA and minor wing changes for the FAA Corsairs.  This gives you 2 aircraft/collector planes for the eventual Pacific.  2 for the price of one development.

This gives you two USN fighters in the ETO and sets them up for the Pacific.

Edit- Saves money as well for engine development.  Sure there were differences I believe Magnetos etc, but, I would think that they had more in common than not.

First an actual map of course, but regarding which aircraft this is, for a Dutchie, really a no brainer.

Edit: didn't think of that, apologies.

So let's try that again minus BAD Finnish hakaristi

Blenheim 👍 but for Greece/Albania, not Crete. Crete is a waste of time as a scenario - the RAF/RHAF did not have any planes based there during the invasion. You would need the Peloponnese and Athens and all the way across to Alexandria on the map to make it viable.

I voted for Battle of Berlin as that seems to be the most interesting out of all of the choices; if there was a Pacific scenario then I likely would have voted for that instead.

The problem I see with doing North Africa and Malta is, when is it going to start and when is it going to end? For Malta, is it going to start on June 11th 1940, the day that the Italians bombed Malta, or is it going to start in January 1941 with the Illustrious Blitz?

Same thing goes with North Africa, is it going to start from December 1940 and go until the summer of 1942? Also, do the devs have enough information to do a Pilot Career from 1940-42 for North Africa and Malta?

If Operation Pedestal in Malta is also included then over 50 ships and over 70 aircraft have to be included... and that's just for one side. There's always game engine limitations so can the game engine currently handle that many ships and planes?

IMO unless stated otherwise by the devs, North Africa in IL-2 GBs right now would likely be done with an El Alamein TC installment and if the devs do Sicily then Malta would likely be included.

Cheers.

Has any definite prove emerged over the past years that the Soviets used the P-63 in Europe?
