Also in this update are two very important new technologies, one of which is tactical numbers that can be customized before the mission.

The second new technology is Dynamic Visual Damage (DVD) that visualizes the hit marks from various projectiles on aircraft and tanks. Please note that is a visual tech that is intended to make the battle damage more vivid. In the absolute majority of cases, the DVD hit marks will properly show the impacts, but there are limitations caused by multiplayer and performance that in some cases can make them inaccurate - the good level of performance is always our priority. Nevertheless, this new feature should greatly increase the damage diversity.

Really looking forward to the following fix especially:

 

55. The bomber group leader will correctly proceed to the next waypoint after dropping the bombs.

I was just sitting here looking at the Spitfire XIV wallpaper and dreaming... then all of a sudden, it drops. Thanks for the hard work 1CGS, greatly appreciated.

Joy and jubilation!

 

Spitfire XIV is a legendary addition. The old Il-2 never had it in their official roster. Neither did Wings of Prey. Neither does DCS.

 

Actually I remember playing European air war (1998) and that was probably the last serious WW2 combat simulator featuring Spitfire XIV. So I have been waiting for over 20 years...

Excited to try the N28!

 

Unfortunately I got a crash a few seconds in (Arras map quick mission free flight):

I am off tomorrow and I was planning to wash the outside and clean the inside of my car, but my priorities have just been changed. Can't wait to try out the new Neup 28 first, the Spitty 2nd and the Gaz third. So Normandy and FCII officially begin, great work 1C!

Congratulations on an historic update: A drivable vehicle from subject matter beyond tanking, the venerable Nieuport and more beautiful effects; all great to see in game, but this:

 

Conspicuous by its absence in other sims: Much missed by enthusiasts; thank you for returning the Spitfire XIV to its place in sim aviation history. Daylight escorts, fighter sweeps and anti-Diver patrols await.

Th new explosions are amazing!

 

Just hopped into the GAZ... and manged to hit a bomber! Woohoo! :hunter:

 

Seriously though, In the few minutes i have played with it,  i think you guys have done an amazing job....my poor dog isn't going for his walk today.

Please explain how aiming is working? Is everything (height + speed) automated and you just have to put the cross onto the bomber?

Hit pause when you load in and select "station notes" from the pause menu.

 

It really explains everything better than i can.

I dont have the AA trucks, the way it is done makes my opinion. Maybe you can make a screenshot. Thank you very much.

It was really in two weeks. I am exited to test some Anti-aircraft with that ugly Gaz

and then fly that beauty Spit XIV. THANKS team!!

despite all of the awesomeness the update brings this little change made me go "oh, thankgawd!!"

 

45. Gamma can be lowered down to 0.5 for more comfort in VR mode;

 

No longer I need to lock the startup.cfg in "read-only" mode to maintain my 0.65000 gamma!

6. Dynamic tactical markings technology is added to the sim, allowing to customize the tactical numbers on aircraft and vehicles. At the moment it works for all detailed tanks of Tank Crew - Clash at Prokhorovka, 72-K GAZ-MM AAA, P-51D-15 fighter, and Nieuport 28.C1 airplane; 

 

Please please please -- can you ensure the tactical numbers are output by dserver, in the text logs? We already have the AType:10 log line that details the player spawn including aircraft type and selected skin. If this (or another log line) included the tactical tail number, this would be really helpful to identify players while the mission is running. Currently I don't see the tactical number in the logs.

Guys,

 

The hitting planes in the GAZ is not super easy. You will need to learn how it works. I have asked LukeFF and Requiem to work on documentation and a video on how it all works. I'm sure they will be along soon with them. I was unable to coordinate the release of them and the update unfortunately. As usual we, along with our partners at DigitalForms have tried to model it in a realist manner. Also, you can access the Station Notes (press ESC-Stations Notes) to understand its commands and positions. In real life shooting down aircraft was a challenge and a team effort, it is here as well. I plan to have some shooting contests with the GAZ in the future. Should be fun.
