Will we see new maps for game, not part of main DLC packs ? maybe map+sp campaing for it with existing airplanes

- What was my favorite air combat game on the original Nintendo system? Top Gun

* This is correct. Top gun was my favorite Nintendo air combat game.

Happy birthday, Jason!

He had never spoken on this forum, but I follow him daily.

I think the answer to:
-"What do I consider my first PC combat flight-sim and what kind of computer did I play it on?" is:
PC: 386 and F-117 Stealth Fighter is the game. It was a Christmas present.
I don't usually miss STORMBIRDS news.

*Yes, this is correct. F-117 was my first sim that I owned and played it on a 386 PC shortly after high school.

Regards!

Oh!
If I can choose any key I choose Battle of Normandy.

Thank you so much, have a great birthday day!

First of all, happy birthday Jason!

I was wondering if the team has already decided which version of the 410 will be added with BoN since it wasn't mentioned in the DD with all the beautiful pictures ;)

No comment other than to say hundreds of thousands. All titles require a couple million minimum.

No. Single maps are very unlikely. Just making the Luki summer was a stretch and a passion project of one team member.

Yes, that is correct. Top Gun for Nintendo. Played the hell out of it.

Happy birthday!

Jason, I don't want to discuss the "engine timers" (the fact that engines get damage after exceeding emergency mode for example) other than to ask
Could it be a separate difficulty option?

At the moment you can only disable it via the "unbreakable" difficulty option, and that means you can crash into the ground without damage.

I would just like to be able to turn only the engine timers off, if you see what I mean?

I want to make an engine durability setting to allow uses and servers to set it to whatever they think is right. But we have to build it and don’t know when I can make this a priority, other things need to come first.

Jason,

I know I already made a question, but this one is also interesting:

Is more content on night combat contemplated for career or base game? With the Po-2 we have night career missions (really enjoyable) and knowing we are getting the Me 410 for night missions, do you guys have plans in these kind of scenearios? (Also in BOBP with 190)

Best wishes and I hope you get a big birthday cake!

Please forgive me if this is a sore subject but many of us in the WWI community feel that there are serious issues with the DM in FC. Will they be addressed before the release of FC2?

Happy Birthday Jason! May there be many more!

Regarding the tactical codes/markings, will these be applied automatically (without having to be the Commander and assign them) to AI aircraft in your squad in Career Mode?

Yes, but the map is tough to make work and Italian birds are harder to research, but it's possible. I love the Med and North Africa theaters. Big reason why I supported Team Fusion's work. Will we ever go there? Unclear. There is a fun Mod for Kuban that sort of brings NA to life in our sim.

Second half of this month. Closing stages.

Hi Jason, Happy birthday 😀!!

Related to the complexity in developing italian planes, in our community we have many historians who could help and provide infomations.

And close to Rome we have an huge museum ( Vigna di Valle, Museo Aeronuatica Militare) where are stored a lot of original planes.

Have a nice day.

Happy Birthday Jason!!! :yahoo:

Questions:

1.  Are we going to have torpedoes in the sim soon? :gamer:

2. Are we going to have a Karelian/Leningrad map? if so, with additional aircraft? :pioneer:

3. Is there any feasible way of increasing the number of maps at a much faster rate? Maybe a 3rd party or new tool? :help:

Thanks :popcorm:

Congratulations to you and the whole dev team for all the outstanding work produced to date. You guys have established a great record for delivering a world class combat flight sim :clapping:

While we have you captive and answering questions, I would like to ask: Is there any chance that map making tools and expertise will ever be opened to the community? Either on the basis of controlled or open access?

Unlikely. Our map tools are very hard to understand and we have no time to train anyone and it will just cause chaos and bombard us with questions. Plus we want to keep control over the quality of any maps. Bad maps are bad for business. Our map tech is difficult to work with.

You get one question. 🙂 I hope to have torpedoes eventually, but for what aircraft? There is a mod for them out there.

Not sure yet as we are still building support for them on all the aircraft. Probably some kind of system will be made for the AI planes automatically. Will definitely be able to assign in mission making parameters. Still early days on these.

This is Vik's department, but yes, we'll have more night missions. However, an air radar would really be needed to bring the whole scenario together and I have no way of doing that right now.

These complaints are not easily solved. I have some ideas on what we might be able to do, but we will have to work them out internally first before I say anything publicly. I don't want to set false expectations.

Happy birthday Jason.

May you add craters which can be enable or disable ?

At that time, we can't displayed any craters after a bombardment. The craters we have can only be placed by mission builder, but we can display them after an action.

The goal is to take off from an airfield and can't land on that airfield after our mission, because bombers drop their bombs on the airfield.

Happy Birthday!

Are alternate ammunition belts (no tracers for example) or convergence options (historical USAAF “pattern” convergences) a possibility down the road?

Is there any possibility of adding recon or artillery spotting mechanics?

Happy Birthday Jason. :)

My question: are there any bomber specific improvements in the pipeline?

Such as:

  • notification when someone joins your plane online (gunner station)
  • gunners "seeing" friendly bombers flying in the vicinity and avoiding friendly fire
  • AI gunners giving info / calling out bandits when they spot them and not just when they start firing
  • more complex AI bomber formations etc...

Thanks!

Customizable ammo belts is unlikely to happen. And such a feature should be designed in the beginning not retrofitted. Hard to do otherwise.  We already give options for different load outs for planes that we were aware of. Not sure how common no tracers actually were. I've only seen anectodical information.

We have the most common convergence used by the USAAF. Please show me what other convergences were adopted officially by the USAAF. Our info only shows basically two types.

Everyone,

Thank you for your birthday wishes I really appreciate them. I have to go work on some other projects the rest of the day and then go piss away my tax refund at the tables. LOL

There are still a couple trivia questions left to answer to win some free stuff. See original post.

Enjoy the rest of the sale! I'll do a podcast soon with Shamrock and follow up on some of these topics in more detail.

Cass has done a bit of tinkering and testing

I haven't had an opportunity to try it myself but it seemed to have a very positive effect on the .50s with minimal changes.

Thanks for taking the time to answer stuff. It's appreciated.
