Has anybody used the Media Translator MCU with videos. Jim's manual says that it works with .bik videos.

I gave it a try having converted an MP4 video into the .bik format, but nothing is displayed. I can play the .bik video otherwise so it is not corrupted, but ingame I get nothing. More test to come for sure but if someone has any advice I will be happy to have it.

Maybe Haash? In Alberts life he used BIK videos; can very well be that there might be more then one codec for BIK.

Found a working link to Rad Video tools, maybe give it a try?

PS with firefox i could not download, but with Palemoon the site works

I used Rad Video Tools Bink converter to convert from MP4 to bik. I did this in standard default mode.

Indeed there are many many parameters involved and without any guidance testing for each case is not feasible.

I will most probably let it down.

The Media Translator MCU requires webm video format now, but you need to change the file extension from .webm to .bik.

AHA! without you Jim we would be lost. Many thanks, I will try it as soon as possible.

I confirm it works perfectly. I use Wondershare as a converter from MP4 to WEBM and you can choose the resolution and size.

Thanks again Jim.

After some tests, the video will play full screen whatever the video resolution. I have a 4K screen and have converted the video into a 1920x1080 format.

I had imagined the video will play at that resolution which means smaller than the full 4K screen. But instead it plays full screen. I have not found in the media translator any parameter for that like playing in native resolution. Anyway that is not too bad as it works otherwise fine, and the mix with the media sound player and images work together pretty well.

You're welcome IckyATLAS, but thanks should rightly go to JG4_dingsda for the tip I linked to.
