TOP DOG ! What is it ?

 

Top Dog events are a monthly dogfight competition organized by il2 League.

 

TOP DOGS will begin with 1vs1 and 2vs2 fights. So, Heads up, next Top Dog event date is all ready set.

 

The format is one of five fights which determine the winner of the rounds (numbers of rounds are dictated by participant numbers) in a knockout fashion.

Winners will go through to the next round and losers are out of the competition. This continues until the final where the eventual ”Top Dog” winner will be decided.

Each round is decided on a gaining of a 2 win lead, with a maximum of 5fights. Wins can be 2-0, 3-1 or 3-2.

 

A Referee will be present in the sky to adjudicate the fight. Their main tasks will be to make sure

that pilots stay in the combat zone, watch the fight to make sure pilots are not acting against rules.

 

Whole event will take place with one of 3 announced aircraft, chosen in a blind draw by Top Dog Admins.

All pilots will fly the same aircraft, with the same fuel loadout, so that winner of the fight will be

decided by pilot skill and how well they use the strengths of their aircraft.

Aircraft will be using specially produced skins of red and blue and will be allocated their color by the referee at the start of the match.

Pilots must download and use these skins.

 

1vs1 Combat will take place in a 1 grid square. If a pilot nears the limit of the square, they will be

warned on the server they will be leaving the combat area. If they continue and leave the combat

area, they automatically forfeit the fight.

 

The combat square will have an upper limit of thin cloud.

If a pilot flies into the cloud, they automatically forfeit the fight. Clouds will be at 4000m.

 

Pilots will spawn in at airstarts at 1000m in opposite sides of the 1 grid square, heading towards

each other, at 8000m separation. Pilots must fly towards each other, and are permitted to make small

maneuvers from the start, but must show a willingness to merge. The fight will be live once pilots

pass each other. Opening fire before you pass each other in the merge is not permitted.

Winner is last pilot flying, and must be airborne for 30 seconds after losing pilot is downed.

 

If 3 collisions happen in a battle, both pilots are immediately disqualified.

 

All pilots need to be in event voice coms to ensure smooth and fun event without unnecessary

pauses.

Approximate duration for event is 2 hours depending on pilot numbers, and if 1vs1 and 2vs2 etc. are held simultaneously.

These events are organized by Joint Staff of active Squadrons who want to push a bit further, and

have fun and fair competition in IL2 Community. Staff members represent several different squadrons.

TOP DOG 1vs1 RULES:

Conduct:

1. Be fair and honest

2. Respect your fellow pilots and act like it .

3. Fight hard and enjoy.

Skin Pack

As the same aircraft will be used by all competing opponents, all players must download and use

the skinpack for the event. Aircraft will be painted red and blue, with the referee having a black and

white striped aircraft.

No cheating:

Any obvious performance difference will be noticed by the referee and cheating will result in

instant disqualification and lifetime ban from event.

Combat Area:

Stay within the combat area. If you leave the combat area, either through the clouds or out of the 1

grid combat area, you automatically forfeit the fight.

Punctuality

Pilots must turn up 10 minutes before their allotted time. If they are not present 5 minutes before the

round starts, they will automatically forfeit the fight.

Dropping Out.

Pilots must inform organizers of dropping out of the event. In the case of a drop out, that pilot will

automatically forfeit their fight and their opponent will progress to the next round.

Disconnection from fight.

Pilots who lose connection from the game will lose the fight they are currently in. They will have

10 minutes to restart and rejoin the game. Any further delay than 10 minutes, and the pilot who

disconnects will forfeit the round entirely, and his opponent will progress to the next round.

With ~16 participants we can finish in 2-3hrs.
