S! All,

Regarding FIF 2020, please see the registration thread on the JG1 boards:

https://forum.jg1.org/topic/8291-fif-2020-fall-campaign-registration-rof/

Because we're starting both the Blue Team and the Red Team over again from scratch, everyone who intends to fly must register.  Even if you've been signed up for FIF before.  This goes for everyone, including members of the host squadron (JG1).

It's the only way to get an accurate count so that we can create the fairest simulated combat environment possible.

Thanks!

Hi All,

I've created an FIF discord server: https://discord.gg/GRErqzP

It's designed to be a quick and easy way to get the teams communicating, without the need to login to the JG1 forums all the time.  It's also a great voice-to-voice supplement.

Feel free to join!

All,

Just a quick FIF update.

I'm still balancing the teams at the moment.  So far (as of this post) we have 49 pilots registered.

I will contact everyone with their team assignments within the next week.  FIF starts on Saturday, 10 October 2020 at 6PM UTC (2PM EDT).

No forum permissions on the JG1 boards will change!  All team discussions must happen on FIF's Discord: https://discord.gg/GRErqzP

S! All

We have put a great deal of time and effort into balancing teams. Many thanks to those that have taken the time to sign up.

Unlike past events, day of event walk ins will not be accepted.  This does not mean registrations will be closed.  Registration will always be open. They player just need to register and be assigned a team.

S!

A few reminders.

Saturday, 10, October, at 2:00 pm Eastern North American time,  hostilities begin.    Server will be up at 1:45 so people can get online and see what the targets are.

Please remember their is a flack fence. You need to be higher than 1000 meters to cross the front.

Check Red and Blue team areas on discord to see if there are any plans.

Sorry for the late decision on teams. Teams should try and select commanders or get some type of structure set up.

One more week of Phase A.

A few quick reminders:

A flak fence runs down the middle of  No Mans Land. You want to be at 1000 meters or higher. ( This means you Gen Markof )

Flak inside the playing map is set to low. There is flak outside the borders and it is set to high. Not just along the front but around the borders. You can fly outside the map area but it is dangerous.

WARNING!  Time change in Europe. For European players, the start time will be one hour EARLIER.

Plane set for Phase B is being finalized. It will be posted very soon.

Scores for the last session of Phase A have been posted here.

There were two missions completed by Red team that did not show on the final screens. Those errors have been found and corrected.

Phase B stats with the normal times, now that North America is back on real world time.

The plane set advances for this phase.

The FIF 2020 "Fall Campaign" has officially come to an end!

…and with it Flanders In Flames 2020.  Congratulations to both the Blue Team and the Red Team on their outstanding performance!  This tournament wouldn't be able to function without the great pilots who take the time and effort to fly with us every Saturday.

This year was unique, as we found ourselves beginning in Flying Circus and ending in Rise of Flight.  Obviously, none of that was ideal.  But, for both @JG1_Butzzell and I, it made the most sense for the event's stability.  With the recent announcement of Flying Circus - Volume II, things are looking up for World War One simulations, and everyone involved in the coordination and upkeep of FIF can't wait to see what 2021 brings.

Thanks again to everyone.  Let us lift our glasses filled with our favorite libations and toast our virtual opponents.  Prost!  Salut!

And as always, thank you to every pilot who flew!

Without your continued support, this tournament would not be able to function!

Cheers. Although I couldn't participate in every mission, it was fun as always. Thanks for everyone involved into bringing FIF to us. Looking forward for the next one.
