Long time lurker here. After a past history of building wh40k sets, my interest in making model kits rekindled, but in a slightly different setting. So I wanted to show the community here my latest build. Which is a Revell type VII C/41 scala 1:144. This was the first time I used E Z Line and photoetched parts. Unfortunately, the photoetched parts belonged to an earlier version of Revell's Type VII, so they were not adapted to the ``Wintergarten version´´. But all in all, an experience that I learned a lot from.

I'm going to take a break from the IL-2 kit that I'm building to try something new.

I've bought these 3D printed I-16s in 1:200 scale to use in my Wings of Glory table top game.

This will be an exercise in painting small. I haven't decided if I will paint them all as part of one cohesive squadron or do a selection of schemes including winter. It should be a lot of fun in any case. I'll be sure to post up progress as I go.

Here they are with a selection of my official game models, all in 1:200. I have a couple more coming in the mail. A Lancaster Mk III and a Yak-1, both official models. I also have 2 B-25s and 2 JU-88 model kits in 1:200 that I hope to add to my game collection.

Does anyone else play this? I'm just getting started.

Whoa whoa whoa, let's not set the bar quite so high LOL.

Let's shoot for good enough for now. What Feathered does blows my mind.

Some nice colours added. Not sure about the thick red chevron on the rudder though. Maybe I misinterpreted the photos of this machine.

Looking good STN.

Nice one Superflyer.

I like model aircraft depicted in photo's.

Shows a true aircraft rather than what records or regulations say should be the correct scheme.

Actual aircraft actually in service.

1:200 JU-88 A-4 kit in progress. It's a kit made by Zvezda out of Moscow. Pretty simplistic in details but goes together nicely. I've got two of them to put together and paint.

I also bought two Trumpeter B-25 kits in 1:200 that have excellent detail. I'll upload photos of them when I start. Funny surprise, I ordered two B-25 kits without fully reading the description. Turns out each box has five B-25s in it so I have ten now lol.

1:200 I-16 3d print and 1:32 IL-2 cockpit for comparison 😃.

Figure finished....Glue still wet.

1/4 scale ish .Jill valentine from Resident Evil 3 Nemesis game remake.

From a 3d print mesh (probably lifted from game itself) because of lacking in fine detail ,textures would probably have been applied.

Still here it is.

Anyway nice to see this thread. Brings back memories.

S!

Had a lot of Matchbox models too. My first one was a Bf110 with Wespe paint in the 1970's. Needless to say needed some help at that time to build it.

Also built models from Monogram, Revell, Italeri, Hasegawa, Tamiya, Trumpeter, Academy etc. Some with the added Eduard detail kits. Maybe I should resurrect the old hobby, a Bf109G-6 in scale 1:48 by Hasegawa is waiting on the shelf.

Finito. Really enjoyed the build. A nice little kit without nasty surprises. I tried to come as close as I could to the original, but there are still some discrepancies.

Very excellent build STN. I love the color scheme.

If you're feeling so inclined one day, I'd love love you see a pulled back view of your photography setup. Your models always look great against the backdrop you're using and if like to learn how you do that.

That’s a new one for me as well. I’m embarrassed to say, I had to look it up.  Nice one Gavrick!  Very keen to see more of it as It comes together too. :)

Had to look this beautiful  monster up as well. I had to chuckle when reading the following sentence:

Ha, I had the same reaction. And for reasons, I picture Steve Buscemi as Khrushchev doing the inspection.

Just heard today that Wingnuts is going out of business. I've never done one of their kits as WW1 planes don't do it for me, but they surely made some of the prettiest kits out there. Here's Andy's clip where he talks about it.

Unfortunately if you haven't kept up with the news most WNW kits have been snapped up now, although worth still looking around as I think distributors are still finding the odd copy here and there. Actually surprised how long the Halberstadt's survived :).

If I wasn't already overspent I'd probably get the UHD...

I’m curious to see who buys the moulds from Wingnut Wings.  They would likely fetch a very high price. However their complexity and precision might pose a challenge to a lot of manufacturers

Don't know at this time, from what I know the design and making of the moulds is the most expensive part and at least that is done. Must admit, its a reason why I am still tempted by the really offbeat UHD and Gotha G.1 as its unlikely any company will re-issue them, should the moulds be bought up.

One of the moderators from the FB Wingnut fan page was also one of those people given pre-release copies to build to test out and they were very close to releasing the HP O/100:

https://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?/topic/84725-wingnut-wings-handley-page-o100/

The O/400 may have been a little further behind and they weren't too far off with the Lancasters I think, maybe end of year would have been worst case....These we will probably not be seen, unless a major company like Revell or Airfix pick them up..I also hope the team gets wok within the industry as it would lovely to see their efforts continue on.

There will be another sale of kits from WNW when they 'open' up, but I am making a presumption it will be an inventory sale off.

Shame about Wing nuts demise, I always thought that although their kits were excellent, but they were not excellent value for money and this probably did not help with their sales.

Still their Quality WWI stuff was second to none.

Update on my 163 build, Walter rocket motor attached, cockpit finished and under cart trolley doohicky ready

This Meng kit is has high detail but some of the parts are soooo intricate but dont fit too well😒.
