Any pics of the real thing? i could only find a mesh sideskirt here: https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/nazi_germany/Panzer_IV_AusfBC

Near the bottom there is one named 'Panzer IV Ausf.J, central Germany, March 1945'

This is one of the pictures from the original location that inspired me ... among others!

Thanks! The skin looks really good. I love the attention to the details.

I will get TC as soon as they fix the AI shooting issue so I can try some skins.. :)

Personally,

the Pz.Kpfw IV appears a little powerless in combat than the Pz.Kpfw III.
I think that all tanks need fine tuning.  :russian_ru:

Outstanding work, Tomi!

If I might make a suggestion though? You should add the zimmerit via the normal map and avoid painting it on the tex-map as it just doesn't look right. Also, remove the zim from the none AFV core components like the skids, track hubs/covers, turret and track shielding, etc as they stopped this process not long after implementing zimmerit. They eventually figured out that adding zim to a shield or track cover doesn't matter as it's protecting something that isn't integral to the vehicle itself.

Love the Ms tracking shielding on the IV.

EDIT - WIP examples using the normal map:

Thank you for the info..
It was a time when the Zimmerit was made on the fenders. And experience has confirmed that it has no effect.

Your Zimmerit Panter looks wonderful!  /
Amazing !

Incidentally, I have already made a Tiger based on your template (sample) for TIGRE88.
Looks great ! :good:

Would it be possible to make generic SS and Heer Panzer and SPG (same as Panzer but field-grey) uniforms (no unit cuff titles etc.) with only the tank badge on their uniform? That would be extremely appreciated :salute:

Keep up the great work!

                           (Ardenns offensive 1944)

( In progress )

12. SS-Panzer-Division Hitlerjugend

HJ.JPG

history

One of the Hitlerjugend Division’s most prolific tank aces in Normandy was SS-Unterscharführer Willy Kretzschmar

who commanded a Panzer IV tank of the 5th Company,

12th SS Panzer Regiment. Kretzschmar accounted for 15 Allied tanks during the desperate defensive battles that the Hitlerjugend conducted in Normandy.

He particularly distinguished himself in heavy defensive fighting around the strategically vital Hill 112 southwest of Caen.

The 1944 organization for an SS Panzer division called for one regiment with two battalions.

The lst Battalion (companies 1-4) usually had the latest tank, Panthers.

The 2nd Battalion (companies 5-9) had Panzer IVs. Actual strengths were less.

I need your help
Has the upper skirt cover zimmerit ?
In this picture it looks like they don't have it.

Here his tank chains were destroyed !

If you want to support my project,

please send me as many pictures as possible on my internal email.
I will not publish it on your request.
I want to do so many tank scins from this action
(the link above)
And create a historical mission that represents this action with the support of TIGRE88.

Maybe someone of you has that in large format?
Could be very interesting for the project.
Looks for a very good reference.
Since there are no pictures of this spectacular action.

How old was Kretzschmar? The 12th SS Hitler Youth was, as its name suggests, made up of brainwashed children.

Most of the recruits were 17-18 years old in 1944. NCO's and cadre were older and drawn from other SS units - primarily LSSAH.

Didn’t they also recruit younger than that, though? The two in this December 1944 photo look like they’re 14 or something.

The later in the war the younger they got. December '44 it was approaching critical for 'manpower.' Kid on the right doesn't even have a uniform belt. Trou is held up by rope. By May of '45 they were scraping the barrel. These two are probably younger than 17 but tough to say how much.
