The reworked vertical fight has me stoked, big potential boost for the P-47 and it's stable mates.  Hope it's the zoom getting zeroed in on.

Will DM improvement include any new graphics updates for bullet holes?  Oftentimes the bullet holes look incredibly low resolution and don't look right especailly on a 4k skin... very large blocky pixels on top of a high resolution wing.

Also, one of the most unrealistic parts of the sim, in my opinion, is the fact that it only takes one or two 20mm cannon rounds to completely destroy a static parked plane on the ground, as if a bomb landed directly on it.  In real life you would have to do much more damage to a plane on the ground to destroy it, than a plane in the air, as you only need to destroy a few small but critical components to force a plane to crash, but those same components might be meaningless on a parked plane as it's not dependent on those minor aspects to prevent it from crashing and exploding.

Graphic effects need serious overhaul - bullet holes, tracers, tracer smokes, etc. I hope they will take care of that in future.

Got some of them!...

Me too. The text on the left optic housing says "LUFTWAFFE  GERMANY" and on the right optic housing "6 x 30 coated lenses 495648".

Grandfather brought them back after the end of the war. Not sure why the text is in English though.

It's true ,I admire complicate subject of dm computation under visual layer. But what catch eye and sell is visual representation of it and consequences to other systems and airframe , because that is what we actually are present and it give us real enjoyment to counter and inflict .

Finding the balance is the gold but I trust they do !

Mine are in English as well but there WERE a lot of 'generic' items such as these prior to the war breaking out (a bit like what happens in Europe now) with stuff like Zeiss lenses (hardly an English component!) etc and so I would imagine that a lot of this stuff was sourced pre-war and companies would either have had stockpiles of parts and were making up optical instruments and such out of those.

"We have found and fixed another possible culprit for the missing aircraft hit sounds in multiplayer."

I always assumed that sometimes the loudness of the engine and friends on comms sometimes meant you just wouldn't hear that you've been hit.  Many RL pilots returned home with minor damage completely unaware that they'd been hit.  Some pilots planes even failed "out of nowhere" when in reality they took damage they didn't know about.

Any idea what's reflected in the binocular on the last screenshot. Maybe a headframe?

Just wanted to take a sec to say thanks.  So many other platforms that I dabble with are completely dedicated to monetization at the expense of the underlying sim, visuals, authenticity and continuous improvement of their game and player experience.  Seeing your team work so hard to get things right that don't have a direct tie to new sales is incredibly refreshing.  Customer for life.  Thanks for the long range vision of what your team is creating and for accepting the more gradual revenue that I'm sure this produces.  By way of thank you, I had previously intended to delay preorders until you began getting planes out, but will now go in and buy both planes and BoN this month.  Salute!

Yep, in fact pre / early war Soviet Mosin-Nagant sniper rifles had optics that were made by Zeiss (the PE and PEM scopes). In comparison to the later PU rifles, the PEs and PEMs were very, very high-quality rifles (not to say the PUs are bad, as I own one myself, but they are quite simple by comparison).

Full news - here is a full text and visual materials

Greetings!

Only a simple question: While looking through the list of keyboard commands I found no special command forusing/unusing bonoculars.

So, how to use them?

best regards

This was a DD, not an update announcement. We will still have to wait a bit for the implementation of binoculars.

What I would like to know is ! Will the new Binoculars see any further / magnified than your main gun sight ? I would hope so even with the best system resolution i find i need to see further especially when a Tiger is dropping is snout over a rise pounding you into submission from 3k  or taking you out with just one round    Somehow !!

Great news about DM improvements , they are much needed especially the very low quality bullet holes. There is one thing that really bugs me though and that is the constant loss of wheel fairings! I find this totally unrealistic and irritating and I don't think I've ever seen this in photo's of combat damage unless possibly really severe .Could it be possible to have hydraulic damage instead so as with severe damage the one or both gear legs come part or all the way down. You often see this in gun camera film.

Don't get me wrong , I love this sim it's the best by a long shot but i would rather just have low quality bullet holes than the constant loss of gear covers.

Meanwhile, with the soviet partisans crouched in the woods nearby...
"Ivan, are you sure this is acceptable? It seems underhanded, and Comrade Svetlana looks awfully cold..."
"Listen, Vasily, when you figure out a better way to lure out lonely German tankers, be my guest. Until then, Svetlana makes her sacrifices for the Motherland! Hopefully, we can take this bugger's binoculars so we can stop just making little circles over our eyes with our hands when we are watching the enemy."

Good afternoon, for the umpteenth time I’ll ask, when will the normal quick departure for tanks be made? actual implementation looks like disrespect to the buyers of your product.

Asking for respect disrespectfully? Nicely done!

Tank crew has not been released, it's still in early access.

He has one post but asked for the "upteenth time." Well, that's a neat trick.

Would it be possible to "go to red" for night time maps? Accessing the map in night missions really plays havoc with night vision!

DM improvements are really welcomed. May I ask if we get to use binoculars in some planes? did the crew carry them?

Without wanting to open the PTO can of worms...

"From 10,000 feet,  scanning the airfield through my binoculars, I saw three aircraft - or dummies.  Even with an excellent pair of glasses [RN for binocs], it wasn't always possible to distinguish between them".

Norman Hanson, "Carrier Pilot", p264.   In this quote he's flying a Corsair over Sakishima in early 1945.
