Announcing "HELL HAWKS OVER THE BULGE" an official, historical scripted campaign (P-47D)

Recommended Posts

So, in the new Rheinland map, is included the whole map of the Battle of the Bulge?

I have tried to compare a bit and it seems so to me. Is that right?

Depends on what you mean - but in broad terms yes.

The map area is there. It's missing a few things that some people might think are important. Like St. Vith and a couple of roads that should be packed with trucks and tanks..

It's OK though. It can be managed

This could open new scenarios and a new campaign then. If we want to include the combined arms scenarios (with tanks) ... is it enough now or do we need more ground detail lie in Prokhorovka?

Please discuss elsewhere.

I have some possible tank plans for later on this map.

Unless I am mistaken, we will be seeing this area of the map in your campaign for at least a few missions, yes? It will be great to see what you do with it.

Yep, but for resource/performance reasons I had to keep the detail limited to the immediate area that concerns the player for the mission in question.

As much as I'd love to build a front with hundreds...thousands of units, it's just not not possible as you know.

You're right. I've noticed that as well. Building an all encompassing template is great until you have to delete 90% of it.

The smaller towns in the Ardennes actually look pretty good when you assemble them on the winter map. From the air it looks quite believable in the snow.  Too bad they didn't model St. Vith as well as Houffalize. That's a neat looking little town to fly over in the river valley.

I've just found out about this after reading Jason's briefing. Glad your doing another campaign, it's an instant buy for me when it's available.

I just hope you get to do a mosquito campaign, when BON comes out 😉

This is great news, it's the SP campaigns that keep me coming back ti Il-2.   Thanks Gambit, I'm in!

I agree.
Career mode sadly is a race between you and the enemy back to home airfield while they shoot your friendlies while they try to land.
Scripted Campaign is what makes this game so great.

Almost ready to turn over to testers.

Going through and taking screen shots for the beginning of each mission...I rather like this one.

I agree too.

I play only SP campaigns.

And I'm really looking forward for this one in particular!!!

At this juncture timing is largely out of my hands.

While I'm still waiting for some testing results to come back, and perhaps a few tweaks/bug fixes still on my end,  there's also the matter of other items needed that are in the hands of others/ including the Devs etc.

So it will be a couple months yet I'm guessing.

Waiting on a solution to a technical issue, as well as a few other things as indicated above - won't be in the 4.005 update.
