Ripper's Bodenplatte Historical & Quasi Historical Skins

Recommended Posts

Incoming Projects followed by releases. Quasi historical skins are simply based from other variants of the same model, for instance a historically accurate skin of a P51-B reproduced on a P-51D-15NA

Incoming Skins

  1. P-51 Mustang Shangri La

SKIN UPDATE:

  1. Work on Happy Jack's go Buggy is going well but slow due to lining up curved Camo in different sections of the template. Everything about this paint scheme is difficult. The black square on the tail is composed of three sections on the template, the vertical stab, the rudder, and also the rudder trim tab! All of which have to be painted seamlessly! The two tone prop and two tone upper and lower nose cowling had to be lined up at the pixel level,  and the  letter I on the tail and fuselage took me at least two hours to find and when I finally did, I still had to rasterize the font (meaning turn in into an image) and modify it to be 100% accurate.

  2. Once I finish Happy Jack's go Buggy I will be adding more weathering to Frenesi WWII version
  3. I have removed June Night from the list because you can get it from @Raptorattacker's skinhouse and thanks to him I will be able to quickly release the airshow version and his WWII version like June Night https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/42650-raptorattackers-skinhouse/?do=findComment&comment=842247

334th Boisee Bee Released for Remeberance Day Although he did not fly the P-51D I still wanted to honor his memory in Il2 Battles. Read more below! As always created with ICDP template with moderate weathering. The most difficult part about releasing this airplane was the nose art which is on two separate sections of the template and had to be lined up at the pixel level
