Of course we knew the Yak 9 and the Hurricane were coming, so excellent in having them confirmed.

Absolutely will be taking up pre order for both planes in a couple of weeks Jason.

One thing I like about planes of this era are of course the paint jobs, and as I remember Il2 from before, the Soviet painted Hurricanes were pretty handsome.

Yaks as other Soviet planes, were similarly attired as the war progressed of course.

Then comes the flying, a Hurricane made after Cliffs of Dover and a Yak 9 made now, with its battle reputation should be worth the wait until the first half of next year.

Hurrie, hurrie hurrie as fast as you might

Cause your 3 yaks are nothing but a blight

But worry not my one hurrie will put up such a fight

It will knock your 3 yaks right out alright

Because it’s such a beautiful sight

Yaks will never beat try as they might.

Give the medium bombers the ability to drop prosthetic legs to POW camps!

And soon afterwards maliciously attack an airfield that had promissed to cease all AA activity, according to an account I read about that episode.

Nice! Don't forget the constraints they had going when choosing these airplanes, I am sure they discussed a lot :). I will get these, and use them in the appropriate campaign areas. Don't forget 1C updates all assets when bringing these birds in, so the investment in the Hurri could show up elsewhere at a future date.

15 Squadron of Spitfires (4x MkII's, 11x Mk V's) escorted 6 Blenheims on a leg bombing mission of vital importance...

Yeah I know about that. What I meant with my comment was, the story I heard is that soon after the leg was delivered, the RAF enjoyed the ceasefire to actually bomb (for real) the place! IIRC it was not a POW camp but rather an airfield, where DB was being held under the invitation of Adolf Galland for a chat, before  his actual final trip to a POW camp. The way I heard it, the field's commander refused to respond with his AA because he had given his word that there would be a ceasefire and didn't want to break his word, even though the RAF was "liberal" with their interpretation of the deal after delivering the leg.

Just something I read somewhere, I don't quite beleive this is true. Not all of it anyway.

Will these be added to the Careers already in place?

I would imagine so. Not sure to what degree however.  Other collectors planes like the Ju-52 and Po-2 are a little less integrated than the default types.

Are we getting just the Hurricane Mk.IIb, or also the c model?

iirc Han mentioned there would be 5 modifications, including the lend lease one. So I guess it could be a, b, c, d and the one with Soviet guns.

Well, Yak-9 can be reused latter: :)

That is a different beast though, like saying a 109F can be used as a 109K replacement.

I hope you're right about that. I'd really like to fly the IIA. It gets me closer to my namesake ;) The IID might be a fun alternative to the Il-2 37mm outfit, albeit with a fraction of the ammo count.

According to AIR 22/310 deliveries were as follows:

IIA:   218 (22 Lost prior to delivery)

IIB: 1884 (278 Lost prior to delivery)

IIC: 1182 (46 Lost, 117 Rejected)

IID:     60 (14 Rejected)

IV:      30

I seem to remember playing Il-2 FB with a Soviet configured Hurricane IIB with all the Browning .303's removed and a single ShVAK and UB in each wing.

Also, from the IIB the wings should take either 2x 250lb bombs, or 2x 500lbs (or closest Soviet equivalent).

Looks like you'll be getting more of my money, but it would be nice if you added a cockpit to the B25 and made it flyable.

Maybe they could add those into the modifications window

Thanks for the announcement. I am probrably going to purchase the Hurricane as anything used in the commonwealth tends to be a case of "take my money". But I've no interest in Russian types.

I hope that he is right about that also. But for me it's because the C variant is the Mark II that I want to use. Just because I want to slap some Temperate Sea Scheme on mine and pretend it is a Sea Hurricane and as far as am aware the A, B and D did not have Sea Hurricane versions.

If it speeds up the number of different planes, let's  have more only AI planes in the next expansions and later on they will turn into flyable.

There are still many missing essential machines, if we take into account just the numbers produced.

Exactly; the North Koreans Yaks were Yak-9P with an all metal construction and several other changes

It is off course your to buy what you want and what you don't.

But please know that samey looking planes are often completely different to fly.

It's the air frames that look samey but the engine and weapon liveries that matter and make the difference.

Have a nice day.

I will buy both as I have all the other collectors planes, but the Hurricane is an instant buy for me away. Also I hope you will bring out a campaign for the Hurricane in the future, I don't even care where it is 🙂

I wonder if these will be available to preorder after the sale 🤔

Well, in Korea you had a much later Yak-9P, which was a lot more modern (500 hp more, all metal construction...) than a 1942 Yak-9. It's like using a Bf-109 E-3 in a 1945 scenario.

Excellent! Hurricane = insta-buy because it's my favourite WWII plane. Really looking forward to this one. :)

I'd love to have these with explosive shells for bomber intercepts. Maybe not quite a historical use, but hitting a Heinkel with a pair of 40mm shells sounds like fun

I am SOOO glad this has finally been announced, the silence after the leak on the Russian forum had me worried! Thank you for finally making the hurricane!

Also an idea for the two yaks is that you could buy both for a discounted price (say 10/20% cheaper than both individually) or just one for the full price?  I would obviously buy both for full price regardless but maybe would help sales seeing as they are so similar  :salute:

I for one am in a hurry

To get the plane they call The Hurri (cane)

And only last night whilst in the sack

I dreamt of flying in another Yak (or two).

SBD with a four-bladed prop.

Gotta be a great movie if they can't even make a correct poster...

I'm pretty excited to see it, it's gonna be hollywood all the way but it's gonna be fun to watch, just like red tails or pearl harbor.

As far as collector planes are concerned the Hurricane is what I'm looking forward to, it's my favorite British aircraft and just looks nice imo.

Yaks are a no go for me though, I have no real interest in Russian aircraft, may pick them up eventually though just to help.

I can match the P-51 almost nowhere. I can outturn a 51 down low.

That's about it.
