Update 3.201 : keep getting "No connection with Authorization Server"

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Since I upgraded my IL-2 GB installation to the latest version 3.201 it takes longer than before to start and then I keep getting "No connection with Authorization Server" messages.

If I then click START again I get in very quickly and everything is OK.

This means this issue is not firewall related, password related and so on but has somehow to do with the new 3.201 Update !??

Please Help !

Does anyone has the same issue ?

Kind regards,

Stefaan

I’ve had the same issue for around a year now. It’s only slightly annoying, but it would still be nice to see a solution to it.

Don’t reinstall your game to fix it. I did that, and it had no effect.

"Don’t reinstall your game to fix it. I did that, and it had no effect."

Thank You all !

I was about to re-install the game indeed (second time after the previous update fiasco).

But now I know it won't help me.

I also now know this has been an issue for ... at least a year !?

Hopefully the Devs will, one fine day, come up with different way (adapt workflow Authorization Server?) that solves

this issue.

I found other references to the "No coonection to authorization server" problem, but it seems in those cases it was a matter

 of a firewall blocking connections. In my case the login process worked fine before v 3.201.

I can still login if I try once more ... is it the wait on connection taking too long here, dunno !?

Thanks again,

Stefaan

Hi,

Sorry to reply to my own post, but I got feedback from Support.

In my case (! YMMV) running the Launcher as Admin can solve this issue, but not always ... really strange.

Maybe my PC is not able to load everything fast enough (only 8GB RAM, SSD) ???

Anyway, the response from IL-2 Support team,  and I quote ...

"Dear user,

Server failure has not been detected

Before authorizing:
- check the settings of the Security (antivirus, firewall, UAC ...) Make sure that they are not blocking the exchange of data with the server
- make sure that the update is successfully completed
- make sure you have Administrator privileges for your Windows account

- make all the game ports in the exceptions your router and security tools
  Authorization requires ports 80 and 443.
  Multiplayer mode uses TCP – 28000, UDP – 28000,
  Downloader Port (TCP) – 28100.
- try to use direct cable connection to PC
- perhaps it makes sense to update the router firmware

Also try to re-download the installer from your profile and do a complete reinstall of the game."

Further In the IL-2 Launcher FAQ (at this Website) :

"Before you start

  • Remember that the game uses certain ports
  • Setup or turn off your security software (antivirus, brandmauer, UAC, SmartScreen, etc.)
  • Make sure that you're logged into Windows as Administrator
  • Open context menu by a right click on game's icon, go to Compatibility settings and choose to Run as Administrator

In case if none of these recommendations helps, please, re-install the game and place it into a folder with shorter path, for instance, "C:\Games\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad".  "

Hope this helps others with a si;ilar issue !?

Kind regards,

Stefaan

Posted (edited)

if it were a port issue..it would not connect the second time around (imho)

Have tried so many things that did not seem to work am not sure if last thing I did fixed the issue (so far at least)

have been comparing my startup.cfg on my server with my game install.  This section (plus a few others) did not look right

[KEY = network]
      available_ip = "[object Object]"
      client_download_traflimit = 10240
      client_ip = ""
      client_upload_traflimit = 10240
      downloader_port = 28100
      server_download_traflimit = 0
      server_upload_traflimit = 0
      tcp_port = 28000
      udp_port = 28000

Changed that line to this:

      available_ip = ""

and am back to my mini-long delay in my game starting, but at least it does start, and am not getting the "connection to...." message.

edit...well...that did not last long...game changes it back to object object.........

Thank you all again !

I am going to compare the new startup.cfg with the one I saved before update to version 3.201 as soon as I get home !

I will report back then.

I am pretty sure my issue (may be different for others) is somehow related to the update to 3.201.

I never had this issue (and related error screen) before 3.201 and it *immediately* stared after the update (would otherwise be quite a coincidence).

Never changed anything to the IP, router settings or whatever in between.

I checked the Firewall, restarted the (cable) Modem, Router, a.o. did not fix this issue.

[I sure hope this issue will not worsen and might one day lock me/us out completely from the Authentication server !?]

Kind regards,

Stefaan

Same here exactly - everytime I get in, it is 2nd attempt. Even if it is a restart after some settings change 1st attempt to log in is ALWAYS failed.

With both Hotfixes, I tried to start the game after ending the download from Steam, and got the same message 'Your connection to Master-Server was temporarily lost. Check your internet connection. I just downloaded the Hotfix, so I have internet connection.

well...yeah...but that is a full 2 mins and 10 seconds later......

I know it does not sound like much...but when you are trying to test out missions it really becomes annoying....

This is somewhat like what happened to me prior to this patch. I would click to log in, and it would say "No Connection to master Server". I would click again and it would work.

This also gave me "Failed to Update" messages on the launcher when hotfixes came. Relaunching the launcher often helped.

It mysteriously fixed itself after this patch, so possibly it will fix itself for you at the next update due at the end of the month.

Thank you RedKestrel & all.

Indeed, happened to me after upgrade to patch 3.201.

I did not get the "Failed to Update" messages on the launcher though.

Strange that Support only gave me the default feedback like ... try this, try that but no explanation whatsoever.

The re-install part of that I did not do since other people here reported it did not help them.

Still experiencing this issue until this day.

I indeed hope it gets fixed with the new patch !

Stefaan

Got this too since few minutes after using launcher to disable VR in order to read tracks in full screen.

I deleted update folder but it doesn't help like usually.

I got this as well on my beta-tester installation which is located on another disk.

HELPPPPPPP....

Hi StaB,

You could also try to contact 1C Support about this.

What I personally got from them didn't help at all for this issue.

If you gat a problem IMMEDIATELY after an update then either .... the update went wrong (unlikely),

or there is a some problem in the update itself causing this issue.

My internet connection is OK ... at 300 Mbps ... it should be ...

if that speed is not fast enough for web/game server authentication

then a lot of people will not be able to connect either I gues !?

Stefaan

really believe this is a login problem on the IL2 side.  Maybe our account logins got screwed up.

Tried to login using the dServer with my game credentials....and it bombs evertime.

But works every time with my dServer credentials
