Nice shots!

@ATAG_Pattle seems like you have problems with the links to the filehoster.

I use Imgur for uploading and use the "direct link" option for posting multiple pictures over here.

Edit: I still have a valid ImgBB account? cool. Ok, if you like try to use the same "direct link" option to put all screenshots at one page here.

Greets.

In TF 4.5 we have Spitfire Mk.I/II vs Bf 109E. In TF 5.0 we have Spitfire Mk.V vs Bf 109F, if there’s a TF 6.0 we may have Spitfire Mk.Vc or Mk.IXA vs Bf 109G-2, if there’s TF 7.0 (likely 1943) we may have Spitfire Mk.IX early vs Bf 109G-6, if there’s TF 8.0 (1944) we may have a Spitfire Mk IX late vs Bf109G-14. If there’s a TF 9.0 (1945) we may have a Spitfire Mk.XIV or XVI vs a Bf109G-10 or K-4.

BTW the scenery looks great, somewhat close to real life.

Thank you

Some late war warbirds in the cliffs engine with it's detail would be awesome.

I doubt every expansion would move timeframe forward. We could get malta 1940-1942, other parts of africa in 1940-1943. Buzzsaw was talking about Syria as possible expansion. That would be 1941. We have channel, soon Africa. Italy would be new challenge, like 3rd theatre. Could be nice :) but i hope we see much more Africa focus before starting new front. Tunis would be amazing.

Personally I hope they can release just aircraft expansions after v5.00.

I would love to see P-47 Razorback, P51B and a 4 engine bomber (B24 would fit perfectly) especially as Clod can handle large formations unlike BoX. I hope they can do this as currently unless we go back to IL2 1946 there is nothing like this available with the fidelity and graphics level of CloD. My understanding is that the next set would be the 1942-1943 era.... But given the timescale getting v5.0 released, it really needs aircraft expansions to keep interest alive and build a player base again. Sadly, unless people have been going round blindfolded, it is obvious to us that the combat flight sim market is waning and while there are the ever faithful, player stats don't lie and Clod needs an injection of players for there to be a v6.00

The work being done on the Tobruk map is exceptional but the timescale (and lack of any progress of a release date) is hurting it. So hopefully once finished the team will negotiate a new contract allowing aircraft expansions to be sold, thus keeping the player interest (like BoX) while the rest of the team work on multiple other features.

Cheers, Mysticpuma.

Strong point of clod is special planes they have. D520, this weird italian bomber I can't remember name of, bf108. I wound love to see some other ideas like this, seaplane, do17, ju52, b17 etc. Planes that aren't really flyable in other games.

I know devs said no, but damn... I wound love to see ju52 in Africa.

I would like it to end up over Europe in 1945 but I get MP's point for sure.

The issue is keeping the game fresh while making the quirky aircraft. So the aircraft I mentioned would certainly keep the player base involved especially as they aren't available in any current game, then while these are released every six months the rest of the team can make the unusual types such as the Me 410, a flyable Sunderland (Buzzsaw said it couldn't happen as there is so little reference material to model off) but the possibility of Coastal Command missions in the B24 would be interesting, there would be a FW190 and maybe a Typhoon or Tempest, as you put it, aircraft that aren't popular but would add to Clod being niche.  A map of Malta and maybe Italy would give great expansion possibilities, even the Apps region?

Initially though it needs that influx of players to be brought in and a 4 engine bomber and combat escort aircraft would be great such as the Razorback Jug and P51B/C  which would work well with them especially in large scale online battles. This we know Clod can handle and utilising its core features is where it would be great to see v6.00 focused towards.

The main selling point for CLOD/Blitz  are the aircraft Oleg and his team included, so many aircraft no one else in the sim community would have bothered with, the current team need to capitalise on those as best they can to keep those interested wanting to buy in.:drinks:

I have said many times I really want to love this sim, sadly for most the early release still leaves a sour taste and a feeling of we were done up the backside. :cray:

There is a full scale complete Sunderland in the UK, I have rummaged around inside it, no shortage of information for that one just a willingness to do it, yes I understand it might not be what all would wish to fly so as a team they have to prioritise and as is usual most want to fly a fighter, I like Hurricanes myself.;)

What I am seeing of the Tobruk module gives me hope that finally me and others can put the past behind and embrace what is coming eventually and move on from there.

Unfortunately in some respects the very fact this team have been given the source code as were TD with the old 1946, means they have probably had to sell their souls on this one so it will always have to take second place to the GB modules, I for one prefer those myself, however, I would still love to see the old CLOD finally become what it should have been if all had gone well.

Anyway, we wait and see.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

I like the idea of aircraft expansions, this would sustain the game and keep it fresh - key point.  So yeah, back off from the train of thought of campaigns after TF 5.0 Tobruk, (I think this will happen anyway - to see how well the product sells) and then concentrate on those aircraft expansion packages, there are plenty of lovelies to model. :pioneer:

Anyway TF have my thank you as it stands now.

Nothing has been confirmed about the Pacific. And it stands that if 1C cannot acquire the technical data for Japanese aircraft, I somehow doubt a group of part-time modders could.

Well, it doesn't seem like a bad idea.
let's leave Russia and Europe in 1C

And make the best simulator of the Pacific War

Simulate Japanese machines with detail and on-board operations

The potential market is huge !!

This post is about the CLOD 5.0 update. Why are you guys going on about the Pacific? I think you're in the wrong thread.

You're absolutely right, but this is a clod thread and anything can happen!!

Surely in that case I would turn red

But recognize that a zero quality TF would be wonderful

Not to mention his contemporaries.

I think this can be a official statement about "Pacific CloD":

So let's leave this "chisme" aside. 😜

I doubt anybody would be too hyped about having pretty much all of the BoX planes a second time lol.

That being said I know what we're getting and that's what I want. Basically a bunch of fancy planes including ww2 biplane fighter planes oh yes!

If we could one day see a battle of France, a fairey Battle (why not) and the incredible diversity of French planes I'd the happyest simmer on earth :)

One of the devs did mentionned a possible Syrian expansion, imagine having the French against the British now that would be refreshing.

It is. I don't know why some want to separate game into bunch of small theatres. Just imagine if clod grows and you can start in battle of france, then fly in battle of britain. You get transferred to africa or you stay in france and defend it against bombers till 1944. If you go to Africa you fight in malta, then you can take part in Tobruk campaign, Tunis campaign and more. Then maybe you fly to Italy and fight there since 1943 till 1945. We could get one huge grand campaign where you actually fly through entire war (kind of like box, moscow-stalingrad-kuban). It's much more fun, cheaper since you don't have to spend time making tons of new assets all the time, and you have pretty much every plane since it's all focused and connected and shares planes between different expansions.

If they would go to Pacific (and they won't 100%), it would just turn into mess of everything. Some channel planes and action, some of north Africa, then Pacific. But nothing would be made well and developed in some kind of consistency.

Just imagine if they have to make bunch of ships for usa and japan. Instead of this we could expand italian, german and british navy in Mediterranean.

you're right

But to those of us who love light, atmosphere and clod airplanes, we would like to see other types of devices, read Zero, Mustang, P47, etc., etc.

I don't know who said nobody would want the BOX planes again
Forgive me to correct you, with TF quality if we want them, all

We would also like a ww2 onboard operations simulator, which would do this in detail

I know!! is to dream

Hopefully Tobruk before venturing anything
